    No, I answered. I know it might have been a troll, but then again it might not have. If it was a troll then so be it, he got me, big deal. If it was not a troll then maybe I helped. Either way it took me a few minutes to write something just in case it wasn't real.

    Dead right, but also trolling is really unhealthy, not to mention dumb behaviour, so if it's a troll they should still seek help anyhow; (also the whole anonymous coward thing can be a bit dodgy, mental health wise, ask yourself how long have you been posting anonymously, are you to scared to reveal yourself? even virtually?).

    repeat after me all maths is fun and wonderful. Mathematically, we need a little bit of matrix algebra. We start by constructing a Jacobian matrix, .... We could do all of that right here, but frankly I don't enjoy it. Besides which, I can just about guarantee that you are more interested in the ecology of vampire populations than in their theoretical mathematical peculiarities.

    He's a very naughty boy, hes's insulted my mathematical sensibilities, so I'm not going to play with him any more, :-)#

    Well, as I see it, using words like that is great branding practice. Think about it. It's such a generic term that you *have* to use the company name to describe it! Word - Microsoft Word. Draw - Corel Draw! Any advertising is good advertising, right?

    Spoken like a true marketdroid, if it sells stuff it must be good; :-)# no offense but don't ethics come into it to.

    One thing to note too: Corel as far as I know haven't, tried to own the word "draw", i.e. strying to stop others from having product names like "foo draw", I could be wrong on that, if so then they'd be as bad and reprehensable as M$.

    If this stuff pisses everyone off, why doesn't everyone write to Microsoft instead of bitching on Slashdot? Bitching on Slashdot gets you nowhere.

    (No offense to the poster, just trying to get those that are angry to do something about it.)

    I'm more amussed myself, this issue just confirms my opinion of microsoft that their just a bunch of stupid "heavy handed" babboons. (and proves that just because some guy got rich, doesn't mean he's intellegent, maybe he's just less ethical than others).

    Still you have a point.

    Bill isn't that stupid, he is more wealthy than probably all the /.'ers combined. It is funny to see all the people on /. just go wild when they hear anything about MS. Do you just despise the fact that you could never become that big?

    No we just despise the way he got that big.

    As for your assumption, how do know whether or not any of us could get that big, hopefully if any of us does, they'll do it in an ethical way not like Billy.

    No doubt, but no one should even be considered for trade marks like these. Hmm how about I register a trade mark called Grizzly's switch and then sue all infringer's (companies who make [light switches, C/C++ compilers, ... ]), put simply the attempt to steel normal words, i.e. windows, word, office etc, should result in an automatic "boof head" fine.

    Also if their trade mark is "Microsoft Windows" then they should have no claims on "Windows".

    I wish people would stop thinking "UFO! OMG! Aliens!".. A UFO is exactly that... an Unidentified Flying Object. It doesn't mean it's from another planet, it just means there was an object in the air, and some bystander with a fuzzy camcorder at best couldn't work out what it was.

    True, I can't wait to here the alien conspiracy crowds angst when it's revealed that all the incedents had perfectly normal explanations. Then again when have facts bothered conspiracy theorists, they preffer to roll their own.

    The pure optical IP or ATM router is still years away.

    That makes sense otherwise the processors wouldn't need to be the slowest bit, because if you had that leavel of processing in the optic's, you'd have an optical computer.

    Too much of anything is never a good thing...Except water.

    No actually too much water can kill you, apart from the obvious way of drowning that is, there are I have been told (by my medical types, sis who's a doc etc), certain disease's which will allow a person to retain so much water that it's toxicity kicks in. The chemist's who first told me this said that you could reguard any substance as a toxin, it just depend on how big a dose it would take. Not to worry normal people can't retain enough water to be poisoned!

    why did I share this, I don't know it's 3:20am in the morning here, and I'm reading /., need I say more: hmm I thing I'll go out tommorrow and by myself a life, I wonder how much they cost. :-)
