Sparkle = Fortron & PowerMan
PowerMan are used in InWin cases. You want to try and buy the "G" series power supplies. The "B" and maybe "A" series are not specced as high as the "G" series is. I too work in a small shop and have only seen ONE actual dead Sparkle/Powerman probably due to neglect on the customer's part. Because of the design of the power supplies if the fan dies then they'll usually just shut themselves off without killing components. Of course some people are stupid enough to try and hit the power button on the front panel a half a dozen times so they can try and kill their parts. Experience also says Deer REALLY, REALLY SUCKS. Usually dead in under a year. I would never run anything less than a Sparkle or even HiPro in any of my systems.
Actually something like that HAS been done before. soldam.com USED to have a Table style case. Can't seem to find it on their website anymore. Anybody want to look for a cache of it? It was a sweet solid case with a glass top. Only probelm was the thousands and thousands of Yen it cost to get it here to the USA. Lots of other cool little cases on their site though. Go there, check it out, NOW.
I should knock it down to Troll but I'd rather add my vote. Slackware I think would be easier to lock down if you were doing an OS on each system. All your common software like OpenOffice, Mozilla, and others run perfectly fine on Slack and Slack handles the older hardware a little better than the new distros from RedHat, Mandrake, or Suse. LiveCDs are a nice idea but a little hard drive storage is nice. That's my $0.03
Damn, beat me to it. Really, it is the best way to go. You just need an Ethernet to run in and output to any receiver or powered speakers. Nice bright vacuum flourescent display and includes a Sony universal remote. So there you go. Slimdevices.com. Get yours today. I would if I had $250 laying around.:p
Tell me about it. Couldn't even get it looking good with the 'vesa' driver. Had to settle for temporarily using WinXP until I get the Shuttle SS51G. What's the word on those SIS graphics? Other than that, frame rates are respectable enough for fraggin on the LAN. Nobody is gonna bitch about an open seat if they don't have a box of their own to use. Of course I have to have my GF3 w/Nvidia drivers on Slackware!!
That internal LCD is certainly not a critical as having a remote!! Grab yourself the SS51G, add a Radeon 8500 AIW which INCLUDES a remote and you're set for far more fun. You can do TV, DVD, and gaming on the same little cube!! Use a little Samba so I can grab my mp3s, load a playlist, and it's a perfect computer for the bedroom. That's all for my mini-rant. Thanks.
I'll pedal with Lance!! Surely he'd whip my ass but the thrill of pedaling along side one of history's greater cyclists couldn't be beat.
Oh yeah, this has to be one of the better received sites for a/.'ing. Never seen anyone prepared faster to accept that much incoming traffic.
I'm only grateful for CRT. I hate TV. Of course we'd all be more grateful if LCD was invented first because then we could all have lovely 30" LCD screens that only cost a few hundred dollars and ran super high resoulutions. Eh?
Finally I find the proper response to all this down the list. Really now, if you want a mini-pc this is the best way to go. Shuttle put enough of these out that the parts needn't be considered completely proprietary. With standard 3.5" drive bays you can put a real hard drive in there as well. Sucker has onboard EVERYTHING too. You can check out more at Tom's http://www6.tomshardware.com/howto/02q3/020815/ind ex.html
Ability do in full size PCI and AGP cards without risers too. And if you want to keep it on the cheap you can even throw a 1.7Ghz Celery processor in there and you can quit your bitchin about cost. Don't forget how quiet it is too due to the heatpipe used on the CPU.
Don't you know how perty X is with 64MB of DDR on a GeForce3? Try running top and you'll see that X barely even shows up on the charts with that much ram on a video card. I rarely see more than 5% memory usage by X.
or google.com/china. Surely y'all know of google.com/linux, google.com/bsd, google.com/mac. Just start the same for countries too. Has China banned microsoft.com yet?:) That'd make my list quickly.
Advertisement are needed so they can pay all those greedy sitcom actors. Why not just give them all a big paycut? That would save on the amount of commercials we'd have to be subjected to in the first place. Some of these idiots are making hundreds of thousand of $$$ for barely 20 minutes a show, 5 days a week. How many hours does it really take to put a show together anyway? Especially when using the same sets over and over again. Give me $50,000 a year and I'd be happy to be the idiot in front of you for a short time each day. Of course the obvious solution was mentioned first. Just get rid of the freakin' TV.
If you want easy 3D in linux the best way to go is NVidia. They can't legally open source the drivers because of intellectual property rights. ATI is going to have the same problem when they write the drivers for the 9700. If every one of their distributors don't agree to open source availability of the driver then they are stuck with a binary. OH WELL!! My ASUS GeForce3 rocks this linux box. The VisionTek I had was buggy on AMD systems in the first place. They were doing well and it's a shame to see them go under just like that. On the other hand they are going under because cheap ass buyers go for the lowest prices and not the higher quality parts. I personally would not stick a card in my machines from the likes of Chaintech, PNY, Pine, and others. I go with what's known. This rule applies to all walks of life. Cheap ass buyers are the type that'd call Bose Hi-Fi and buy your bikes from a freakin' Wal-Mart. Get yourself real toys!!
I'm with Xenolith on the foam and velro option. I've used cardboard and tape a number of times on my LCD. These days I just throw it in the car and forget about it. I've had mine over 3 years now. It has handled quite well going from Maine, to Florida, to Arizona, and to Oregon where it's made frequent trips to the euglug (euglug.org).
if you don't like the .exe just rename it! Either way it's chmod a+x FAH3Console.exe then ./FAH3Console.exe. Tean number 668 when it asks. Just kidding.
What's wrong with the commnad line? Then just run xmatrix -root and you're all set.

Is there a comprehensive guide to wardriving on the net? Where can I learn to do the markings?

are those M$ employees looking for code?
sell a car with upgradability and you're bound to start getting a few extra mods with it :)

MS works (oxymoron if i've ever seen one) Actually Micro$oft OPERATING SYSTEM is an even bigger oxymoron. Damn, Offtopic Troll. I tried.
let's not forget the "what to do to spammers" poll!! Truly one of the better polls.

Evil am I? Finally a use for all those Canadians!! Eh?
I would have to say Asus makes the biggest and baddest of the bad ass graphics cards with NVidia chipsets.
