We're not talking about some garage experiment here. Were talking about running 100 million cars a day on hydrogen. Got links to a solar technology that won't require most of the western US to be completely covered by solar panels?
According to the interview link, the console will use PC hardware and be able to run PC games. Somehow I'm envisioning lots of crappy bargin bin games. And if the system doesn't come with a mouse and keyboard I really don't see the point.
I have found with Sony if you buy the bargain model made on the asian mainland then yes you get what you pay for. If you get one of the top of the line models made in Japan then it's likely to last.
On the other hand, AMD bowing out of the processor speed wars will only help Apple in the long run. Intel will slow the speed to which it releases new chips allowing the G4 (or it's replacement) to catch up.
The first season or two the time slots were good. Sometimes you would come back from Friday night adventures to catch the midnight showing but usually I would watch it on Saturday morning at 10. Farscape is a great show to watch while you're nursing a hangover.
Adobe bought the right to embed most non-adobe fonts with in the pdf format. The companies that manage those fonts sold those rights with out the forethought of the usefulness of a pdf like document. I doubt microsoft has done the same. It will be interesting to see what happens.
The other thing about this format is microsoft page layout programs suck. Not even in the same ballpark as adobe or quark. They can try to cram software down our throats, but graphic artists can be a stubborn lot and have avoided microsoft products longer than most. Hence the Mac.
It cannot compete with its AWD counterparts unless it is running in a perfectly straight line, or it would be on the World Rally circuits (among others) right now.
Doubtful. Even with AWD it's too big as are most of the "supercars". This year on WRC it seems that the smaller was better. Are you having Peugeot envy driving a Subaru? Those dinky 206's seemed to dominate.
The only flaw I see in your tirade is the fact that the Viper has been winning in the GT+ class quite consistently against many of the cars you mention. Sure it would suck in rally but then it is so wide it probably wouldn't fit on some of the narrower courses.

in the San Francisco Chronicle brings light as to why this came out now. A 25 billion dollar project to link San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento by high speed rail is close to becoming a reality. Expect lots of cool new train tech to come out in the next few weeks as train powers that be duke it out for this sizable contract.
You know what I've heard works really well. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper about the issue. Clip the whole letters page (so you have both the identity of the paper and the date of issue) and highlite your letter then send it and a professional letter version to your congressman. They supposably take it more seriously if they know a lot of people have read the letter.
Make bucket loads of cash (not easy but on par with getting elected to congress) and contribute to candidates of both parties making sure they know and intend to push your agenda.
Was Ansel Adams a working artist or a working pro?
I would define the pro as taking 60 rolls of film and getting maybe 3 or 4 workable shots. Whereas the artist takes one or two and knows both will work. The methods differ but the results are the same.
Would you define the end use or the money made as the determiner?
Me thinks you are splitting hairs or hung up on semantics.
Ahh, but take those "great" photos you mention. Would you say the same thing if that artist had made the same image with a digital camera? Your argument seems to go along the lines of: group A did killer photography with film. Group B did crappy photos digitally. Therefore film is better. But it sounds like the composition of the film photographers was better not the technology. Sure you can hold up great photographers to support your case but you forget billions of mediocre shots taken over the same period by lesser photographers as well as JQ public. Give digital time and the cream will rise to the top.
As to the long term storage...lots of early films (as in cinema) are rotting in their light-prof cans. Add a little too much humidity, and negatives will stick together permanently. But a digital file can be copied infinitely. And can be easily copied to the next best data storage format. If you are at all careful, the digital file can be permanent. Something film has never done.
The other part of this argument is that 35mm is not the only format of film. Digital may be ready to take over 35mm but 4x5, 8x10 or 11x14 negatives? I don't think so. Not for awhile yet.
So to recap, I tried the PS version and liked it...then I tried the PC version and liked it the same...then I decided to stop playing the PC version and went back to the PS version. Why?
Because you have neither a good internet connection or any friends? Diablo 1 was all about multiplayer gaming. Where were you?
That's progress for you.
Didn't think so.
It's certainly cleaner, but not necessary less oil dependent with out some other new technology to support it.
Charities, surveys, calls on behalf of politicians, phone companies and any business you've done business with are exempt.
Which pretty much covers all the telemarketing calls I get.
This story has been playing all week on TV in the Bay area. The $15,000 is how much it costs to take the training classes to Learn how to pilot it.
There have been mac versions of all three for a long time now.
Aw man. That sucks. I'm not playing Diablo on an Xbox. I wonder if Worlds of Warcraft will be forced Xbox only.

Where's the "net"?

Wouldn't helium or N2 work just as well with out the explosive problems you might encounter if it ever leaked?

But the service sector as a whole has suddenly gotten a hell of a lot more competent.
