Another damn piece of plastic that is good for nothing, and will still be in a landfill in 3,000,000,000,000 years! What a great idea.

Yes, the country that gave the world Adolph Hitler and Arnold Schwarzeneggar has a legal system that is punishing the man who would save us from the death bus of the air that could take out 800 people in a few seconds. That is screwed up!

Probably the only thing that would make people that angry would be property seizure. If taking people's homes through emimnent domain just to sell the land to developers became routine, there would be an armed revolution. Short of that, most people will never care. The Supreme Court has opened the door for that, ruling that public use means whatever some kleptocratic local government says it is.

If Warner and the rest of the labels want to look a gift horse in the mouth, don't give it to them. Saying you don't want to sell downloads at iTunes would be like saying you don't want to sell CDs at Wal-Mart: marketplace suicide.

  7. Re:P2P: the new gateway drug. on P2P Users More Likely to Cheat, Shoplift · · Score: 1

This is just one example of a phony study that finds exactly what sponsors paid it to find through fudged statistics, and twisted logic. I sure hope someone is available to debunk this when lobbyists present it as fact to legislators.

So, what you are basically asking is when the next social upheaval on par with the French Revolution will be? Short of that, nothing will change. You have only the rights the state (Nation state, not a division thereof) chooses to extend you nomatter what a piece of parchment says. Even after a revolution, it would be meet the new boss, same as the old boss within 20 years.

Check out this quote: "To have only one price point is not fair to our artists..." Our artists? Did the labels buy then at a slave auction? Are they property? Niether "A" in RIAA stands for artists, so when the recording industry claims to care about them, don't be fooled. They are as disposable as a loaded diaper (not the cloth kind, duh!) to the labels. Don't buy CDs.
