I was reading about hygrometers the other day and noted that a couple of designs used human hair to measure humidity levels within the air - maybe more than hair can expand when the weathers moist?
I have no idea what barometric pressure is but why not.:)
The PC Computing Industry growth was accelerated when code was 'stolen' by competitors who didnt wish to enter into a license agreement... History is repeating itself but in a more spectacular way!;)
I run a System V compatible Operating System at home and it cost me less than a Nintendo Gameboy. I used to dream of owning an System V based computer and that dream became reality when I logged into my fresh Redhat 5.1 install.
I had forgotten what UNIX was until I logged in to a friends Redhat Linux machine [Linux was a hackers OS to me then but I was persuaded to login to a guest account] then the memories came back instantly - I was messing with/etc/passwd and had Hello World compiling with cc [GCC] within 5 minutes [I got locked out at this point because I forgot to turn history off so I never got to test my old skills] - hehehe. =)

I also have a Seagate drive (older 1.2G though) that had a part of its board fried and I kept the drive around to get the important data off it (via platter-swapping) although I never got around to recovering it. =)

I like Amaya because its fast and easy for CSS plus SVG although I dont use it often. Mozilla Composer is a much nicer page editor but its a bit slow and I dont compile it *POS computer*.:P
ASPire huh? That name would definately be associated with ASP! =P
Im no database fiend and have heard about the open source version of Interbase. Ive never used it but if I ran Windows itd probably be my first choice - a Google search for open source windows database returns Firebird right after MySQL and PostgreSQL *MySQL is a maze for me and Ive heard PostgreSQL isnt very nice on Windows *I tend to use PostgreSQL with FreeBSD or Debian since its easy to use and program (although choosing encoding types are a mystery for me:)*.
It is pretty crappy that Mozilla.org dont care about this issue *I like Mozilla (I have played with Gecko/Spidermonkey) and think this is an issue* since a project name is usually always shortened and also publicized bugs/exploits about a program called Firebird *as in Mozilla Firebird* could be misconstrued into being a problem with the Firebird database that someones using.
Another Gecko-based browser is doing the same thing to a Boulderdash clone which is also not very nice... are we running out of names for programs? *I usually say 'Epiphany browser is looking good so far' etc not 'Epiphany is looking better' since I respect the Boulderdash clone and since both are 'apt-gettable' under different package names*
Overall I think itd be nicer for both to coexist even if they share the same part of a name - Phoenix is a fitting name for the renewed *Navigator* browser AND a sort-of renewed database *I dont know if this was the intention - heh*. Surely other names could be thought of for a 'better navigator', 'revived navigator', 'resurrected navigator', etc.
Is adding a car cigarette lighter an original case-mod idea too? Save your lighter fluid for mobiles! =P

It would probably have been helpful to tell modders how pliable stained glass is. If you can get it *stained glass* fairly thin *1-2mm* with a straight 90' fold on one side you could probably use a case like an old HP Pavilion where the sides are removable so you could just replace these flat parts easilly *Ive seen one used plexiglass and another using heavy mesh*. Itd probably be better to look for one *case* with more cooling holes than the old HPs have *or just die grind some holes/slots in your stained glass and srew a fan on the airhole*.
NB. stained glass and case modding shouldnt be mixed *it will look awful even if the stained glass had a big Debian emblem on it* (just paint some plexiglass/plastic/fibreglass/steel:)
If you learn enough about programming and how the computer computes you can usually visualize a program to get the main interactions and then use guesswork/disassembly to work out minor things *this is my usual version of what it means to reverse engineer anyway - its not always the easiest way*. Things get trickier with hardware and protocols but the more you know the easier itll be.
Ive been fond of a 'Degree in Reverse Engineering' ever since I found a game designer within a game - its very interesting, challenging and rewarding *you can impress the opposite sex even*. =P

I threw away my LC-10 printer just last month and was tempted to grab it back out of the bin! That LC-10 was made in the late 80s and one ribbon *which was self-reinkable* which lasted for probably 1000 sheets.
Now I have to rely on a 4 year old BJ-210 which doesnt like non-printable ascii anymore while I look at a 680C which broke *I think its electronic failure* within 6 months of purchase *they arent cheap*. Both of these printers need a new $30(AU)+ ink cartridge before I can get through 1000 sheets.
PRINTER TCO HAS GONE UP SO MUCH!!!
If you need 1000 copies of something forget about printing them. Its pretty lame when you send yourself a fax just to get cheap man pages or when you leave your office to hit the Kodak print shop *we ARE being screwed*!
Ninja Gaiden was lousy compared to Shinobi! Sounds like this guy knows that as he has nothing good to say about the original Ninja Gaiden. :)

Does capital have to be an incentive to invest in a large project?
Im saying this from lack of sleep but I do like the ideal of 'living in harmony with Mother Nature'. *sigh*
How about a final 'fling' with another cute geek first? ;)

I can remember taking all the spaces out of my Basic programs so they would fit into the memory of a 4K TRS-80.
If this guy couldnt choose Machine Code over BASIC *he cant even spell BASIC* then that story was a waste of time.
I think you might be able to design the core language today. In fact, some might argue that it was already mostly designed in 1958.

*Ugh* at that printer. I have one sitting in a cupboard which is broken and lasted as long as 2 cartridges did but I agree on the print quality. =(
Sounds like it could also be 'Accounts Administrator' which is what a lot of jobs seem to be that have administrator in the title/description. =\

I like 'hacker' and using this would mess with the 'media image of what a "hacker" is' *with some exceptions*.

They could have used a timed key
More like new key for each cd set *leak and youre busted* - theyre probably too greedy to spend money on better security throughout production though.
Computer time can be manipulated and any scheme to stop someone from doing this would probably require an activation-like setup.
And, you can make games with Python. =O)
