Sure, google now has a browser but why do they have a browser. Are they trying to sell the browser? No, they needed a browser for its utility and not for its direct profitability. I think they would be damned happy to continue funding mozilla since mozilla is moving forward and doing a pretty good job. They are also redirecting a lot of traffic google's way!
You might not be able to execute code from that location of memory but you are still able to read and write to it which does make it a security vulnerability or at the very least a rather large bug.
H264 is an open standard as well in many ways as many academics and companies have contributed to it. it is literally the best because everyone has worked on it for years and years and years. the only potential pitfall is that en/decoders might be covered by patents.
And finally, our parents generation did so well without an education because after the war the economy in north america was booming! Things are changing now but people still have the "i suck at math but i did well in life" attitude.
Honest to god, they are probably eating enough for two people and when not exercising are probably just pissing and shitting out half of the calories anyways.
This sounds like new age BS to me. Most parents know nothing about the world around them. Kids will ask questions such as "why is the sky blue", "how does the sun heat us", and "how can a bird fly?" and most parents won't have any idea how to respond. Even when looking at the humanities most people fall flat on basic knowledge. In fact, I would suggest that most parents lack the creativity and understanding of the world to really challenge their children to grow. Feynman might be able to pull it off but I know that most people wouldn't be able to pass a grade 4 science class. We have to get kids to sit down and read books, memorize times tables, and learn how to socialize. The school playground is a very important part of the process that home schooled kids seem to miss out on.
150nm means something to people who actually study materials and science. I don't think 6/1e6 of an inch makes any visual sense other than (really tiny) to any one who even knows what an inch is anyways.
I just got home. It's 3:30 am. I missed my bus. I cockblocked her "ex" or whatever he is all the way to the bedroom door. Had a brief chat (clenched fist ready to pound the shit out of him) but really it was both of them and not him alone. I need to be able to trust her too! I walked the fuck out at first swearing like a mother fucker in my best québécois i know all the way down broadway street vancouver. I finally calmed down enough to feel the pain. It really hurt. I turn on my computer to try and calm down (can't sleep in this state) and wtf do I see? A study that says i feel pain right now. Well duh! I physically feel pain and my gut is wrapped up like a turban.
Or rather, we would more likely see x-ray lasers which increase the horrible power efficiency and production cost. X-ray's right now are generated in all directions and only sent in one direction throuhg basically a pinhole. A lot of expensive equipment is also made to make sure it doesn't overheat and to make sure that you get a sort of clean spectrum.
Basically journals get academics to edit and review for free, to write for free, they force you to sign over copyright, and they charge you to access your own paper. Generally university libraries fork over tons of money to get a campus wide subscription to each and every journal. Everyone has to publish or perish (even masters students). Most of the research is probably government and publicly funded anyways. Anyone see anything wrong with this??
Well, i learned a lesson playing those games and i eventually got good enough that smb was a laughing joke. It is good for kids to get frustrated and learn patience. It isn't beyond what they can do if they do persevere. This just teaches them that there is always an easy button.
While computer scientists build a lot of their research on top of open source software, seldom do they publish code for their result. Why? because the code is clearly a buggy hackfesh or because they want to milk their technique for more papers and prevent anyone else from beating them to the next one.
Okay. Umm.. Who the fuck cares if students show up to class or not. At university we are old enough to decide if class is a waste of time or not. I skipped tons of classes during my undergrad degree and this enabled me to actually assignments that I wouldn't have otherwise had time for.
So can someone please explain to me our cousin species can manage to navigate such dense forest with such high precision while many of my highly-intelligent ex girlfriends managed to get lost so easily on short walks.
The old farts in washington are from another era and have no understanding of any of today's issues (if they can even identify them amongst the old and tired ones they stubbornly still debate) yet these are the people making the decisions that have an impact for years to come. To me.. this hurts a lot!
Well we are not considered decendants from neanderthals but doesnt sharing a common gene imply that our common ancestor shared that gene as well. Parallel evolution is possible but it would be interesting to see that homo erectus might have that gene as well.

Just trying to get through San Francisco during rush hour takes longer than the train that can make it all the way to san diego!
Public waves sounds a lot like 4chan.
They've held me at a prolonged state of excitement!

If star trek was full of depth then I really dont want to see xmen then. I thought star trek was nothing more than an enjoyable action flick.
Right now X-Ray sources are quite random and waste _a lot_ of energy. A nice pencil thin directional beam would do wonders for CT scanners.
1) browser 2) email 3) music 4) oops.. can't get any work done.
Well, it's like how the maginot line was the best defensive structure ever.

And count to three. Four is no good and neither is two unless you proceed directly to three after and five is right out of the question.
