If i was an IT admin or some such i'd just give employees boxes w/ fluxbox and idesk, openoffice, and phoenix. 4 or 5 buttons on the desktop. That's it. Easier than a tv.
I don't use floppies. I have an ftp server. But for the other 99.9% of the world this is bad. I'm in high school and a floppy is the only way (besides ftp) to get stuff home. Our cheapass school doesn't have cd-rs on the coms. The newest ones do have accessable usb ports, but nobody has a usb key drive.
Hmm... I just remembered that the new coms at school are Dells now. Maybe we'll go back to gateway and decent monitors.
With mozilla the user is presented with the same dialog each time. I'll recognize a mozilla install box immedialy. IE will popup premission boxes that look like the typical junk add box and install when the user hits cancel to "abort installation" or some such.
For support not software. That's why RH isn't pulling a M$. You can upgrade your stuff to 8.x and use your current support policy at no charge.
And don't give me this "we can't upgrade our old servers. If it ain't borke don't fix it" b/c those working servers don't need support and if something goes bad worng an upgrade may be the easiest fix.
How can he add a part of a cicil suit saying ebayers need to register as buisness. That's asking for laws to be creatd and civil suits can never do that.
Birds have 2 sets of paired appendages. 2 wings and 2 feet. An extra set of paired appendages makes this organism very different form a bird. In addition dinosaurs also only had 2 sets of paired appendages so this thing probobly didn't evolve form a dinosaur either.
That seems great. I don't see how that could prevent copying though. If a normal player could read it, anything could copy it as well. At least these will work under linux if that is true:).
It's not the best for corporations. AFAIK, Red Hat has some really good tools that drake lacks. Mandrake is good for the home user, but the home user won't pay once he figures out you can dl the isos. Also at least in compusa mandrake has no shelf space. It's all Red Hat.
However i do hope they pull through since they do provide the best distro in the home user nich.
Obviously you don't develop java or rely on standards(but not M$) complient apps. Many do not (specifically fot the reasons m$ is being puished) but some do.
Anyway TRO is the closest thing since we're talikng about Sun's rights
-1 Retarded
You can't "demand" a product. You have no rights to handwriting recognition. I searched the bible and the constitution and hardwriting recognition doesn't appear in either. If the technology doesn't exist, you may have to lear to use a device. I hope you don't have a car. "Oh, i demand that this thing work without having to learn how to drive. and i demand that other rivers get out of my way. *crash*.
btw a rollup keyboard needs a surface to write on and defeats the point of a PDA. We have laptops for use with keyboards.

So go dell.
Call me an idiot if you want.
I was your idea, not mine.
IDIOT!!
To access those hubs, just share junk. /usr does nicely. gentoo users can also share /var/tmp/portage.

You forgot to add the price of your computer. His gaming com is also his work com. You have 2 devices.
However, I would be equally annoyed to waste my weekend peeling the remains of a segway rider off my car's grill
For $15 you can get a hand car wash to do that for you.
dude, cars are banned on sidewalks. That's why we have roads.
I tried this on my old-skool 32mb radeon. It exploded. Is that bad? Morrowind did run smooth for .0000001 seconds, though.

windows XP (which is really NT with lipstick)
And Xp has some pretty ugly lipstick
"as Nordics we usually take care of this, not leaving it for coming generations in the back yard."
As a redneck i bet i could build a car/boat hybrid from what's lying around at the lake.
I rarely use AC even in the Atlanta summers. I find the 4-90 AC to work just fin.
for the ignorant a 4-90 ac is rolling down all 4 windows and getting on the highway.
If dell didn't have the option to disable TCPA and would only boot win, that's just one more reason not to buy a dell.
If redhat removed the ability to recompile the kernel they'd be fucked for other reasons such as hardware incompatabilities.

Will site admins start attacking /. at any sign of a slashdotting.
Linux passes some milestone in usage
It did. specifically vertical ones.
"they made it cross platform (which itself has quite a bit of overhead) "
You just said it yourself. Safari will be OSX only.
In addition it is just a browser (unlike mozialla) which will cut down on bloat.
