  1. down with spam on Is the Dean Campaign Spamming? · · Score: 1

I received spam from the Dean campaign too, though I wasn't gonna vote for his butt anyway.....but since getting spammed, I went for neutral (no voting for him) to crusading against him and others who use spam to improve their situations (financially motivated or otherwise).

Arnold for Prez, 20xx! (it would be funny).

Though if you think about it, conspiracy nuts might say that it's not really Dean's campaign that's sending spam especially after public outcry against spam and that a third party (an opponent) is doing the spam to give a negative image of the "target."

    o well....who cares, right?

  5. contract != copyright law on SCO Attorney Declares GPL Invalid · · Score: 2, Informative

GPL does not violate copyright law as SCO's backwards-logic lawyers say it is.

The GPL is a contract....a contract that gives ppl access to the source code under certain conditions and also requires them to use the same contract to give access to the source code, especially if they modify the original.

Hell, I think the GPL is better than copyright, at least if you consider the original intent of our founding fathers.

Anyways, copyright law says "WITHOUT permission" and well....the GPL IS the permission (not just the contract).

And this most recent action by SCO just further fortifies the look of how SCO's logic AND code (if any) is faulty, so much so, the exec's are jumping ship faster than ppl would if they suddenly find themselves on the ill-fated Titanic w/ Anna Nicole Smith (2 wrongs make it worse).

What if it was like a copy of MacBeth (public domain) or a text file that says "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ"?
