For those who don'tknow Uga VI is the current live mascot of the University of Georgia (Georgia Techs kinda cross state rivals) I am just glad GT doesn't have a live mascot.. what is the lifespan of a Yellowjacket anyways?
1) Found Company 2) Sell company - stage 1 profit 3)Realise there is more money to be made by suing a former competitor 4) Buy failed company back 5) Sue Competitor 6) More Profit????
I have done my fair share of security work and with regards to the blurbs "not to mention a blatant disregard for the rules and the right way to do things" I can say that one rule to never violate is always have a lawyer go over the contract and make certain the customer signs it before you do anything. Further is is a good thing to record all your activities on a black box while testing the system.
This would have been far more interesting if: A) it had not come as a kit with all the parts in neat little bags B) They had not kept looking at the instructions.
Putting together legos using the manuals really doesn't take that much does it? Now a to scale ISD out of 3m expanding foam carved with a hot wire and plumbed with LEDs.. now that would be cool AND you could float it on a pond.
GP said "Wake me up when they get something not over half a decade old" and you go back to Gundam... am i missing something because half a decade is 5 years and NGE is over 5 years old...
Even Gainax has said they do not know exactly where Eva is headed (for those who don't know the Manga, DCut , Movies and Original Eps all take the series in different directions).
That said Eva can be discussed by those with enough background in the various subjects when enough hash/LSD is present.
A lack of action is as much proof of support as anything. You seem to be missing the whole issue. Things could change if people wanted them to. If the majority of people did not want windows then do you think Michael Dell would pay 15 bucks a machine to have a license for all those machines he sells? No he would keep the price the same, ditch windows and pocket the difference.
There is a drink called Double Cola which was developed near where my parents grew up, and still has a bottling facility nearby.. I personally do not like the stuff but it appears to have gone international now. Products can start small and grow, especially with the net niche markets can expand and become major ones. However with all the people (sheeple as you and others have so rightly phrased it) it certainly is difficult. Again, if people wanted something apart from what the "monopolies" gave it would appear and come to fruition. That they don;t should tell us something.
I hate to say this but Microsoft is a virtual monopoly because the majority of people want it to be. individual communities could force schools (via the elected school boards) to require use of OSS, but they do not. The result of such measures would introduce and familiarise the general population with something other than MS, but I don;t see it happening in the near future.
Do you not test new software before you do a network rollout? When I was an IT director I would have fired anyone who did a deployment w/o testing then you would be dealing with 1 machine and figuring things out rather than asking slashdot.
are you forgetting vandalism, support and such If you have a worker making 15 bucks an hour that worker is likely costing 45 an hour. (benefits etc.). Someone has to monitor the system, do support, make reports and filing. plus you know the meetings about this were part of the budget also.
As much as I hate the inefficiency of the govt you must realise that projects do have an ongoing cost which must be accounted for. Sure I can set up my home systems or the set up at the office for dirt cheap because its for me or a friend or family. When someone starts getting paid for the real costs of operation it all adds up and costs more than what we would normally think.
Yeah, I am leaning more twords the complete conformity, so you who are replying are missing the point. No browswer, that I am aware of, conforms to the existing web standards. the rest is just what I would like to see it run on. does that make a bit more sense?
Safari and KHTML have versions that at least pass acid2 but that is not complete conformity. Besides its a pie in the sky thing.
My personal definition of a browser that doesn't suck would be one that completely conforms to... i dunno lets say all webs standards currently in use that existed before 2004. Can I at least have one that does that?
Also can I have it at least compile and run under win32,*BSD,*nix and OS X, the other platforms can slide for the time being.
That is a symantic difference. In math, what in pure sciences is called a theorum is called a conjecture, whch when a proof is given can then become a theorum. The difference being that Math is a symbolic system as oppoed to being symbolic and emperic like physics.
You hit the mail on the head, demonstrated would have been a much better choice.
2)Scientific theories are falsifiable by definition, other kinds of theories are not (perhaps they are philosophy. theology, history or some other kind of theory)
1)As for the various quantum theories being demonstrated as valid in their tested areas, within the limits of the tests, and thus arguably being extendable that I also agree with.

No you are thinking of BB King
Ther company never did but the seller certainly make a small chunk.

Ah yes but the Comet has slightly more mass that your average 747 windshield.

I took it as refering to the series which IS half a decade old or so,,, wouldn't that be a more likely situation?

While I agree on solids, gases certainly do not only require pressure but generate it.
Since you asked about something that would phone home I would suggest Timbuktu from Netopia. There was a story a few years ago about how a brother recovered his sister's stolen computer by using its phone home functionality.
Then do a roll back he did do backups first right?

I wish more people (especially judges and politiciams) understood the simple statement you just made.....
No, looking at the community chest requires opening to page 3

actually neither one completely conforms .. hence my minor rant. As for compiling I mean I want it to be able to run natively as opposed to emulation.
