They're just saying that because they don't want to do it. They'd rather make a big deal about it so that when they finally have to do it, they'll get paid more for it.
"The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that a law meant to punish pornographers who peddle dirty pictures to Web-surfing kids is probably an unconstitutional muzzle on free speech."
No... no... that's an objective fact-based introduction to the article.
I will be attending RIT this fall, and my major(CE) requires a full year of co-op on the job experience. Will this be enough experience to give me an edge when I enter the job market?
"Bringing in the government to impose certain types of mandatory labeling schemes or new technological mandates is a little bit troubling to us," said Adam Thierer, Cato's director of telecommunications studies.
Bringing in the government to impose a ban on fair use rights or reverse engineering is a bit troubling to us.
I'm not quite sure why... but it just sounded interesting. Yea yea yea.. call me stupid all you want, I realize I probably just wasted $11 but hey what the hell.
"Everyone here at Valve is once again reminded of how much we owe to the gaming community."
As a show of appreciation, how about taking the not so difficult step of porting HL2 to the Linux platform? I could understand if the game was written completely in DirectX, but it supports OpenGL which is fairly portable from one OS to another. Oh well... wishful thinking...
I have to wonder how you go to the bathroom on a trip like this... I mean, I understand that you're in the middle of the ocean and can go wherever you want, but think of the logistics... if you try to go over the side of the boat, wouldn't that create an imbalance?
A fair majority of scientists and researchers are civilians. I'm sure they'd be lining up to get out of the atmosphere and run their experiments. Plus, privatizing space travel keeps it from becoming a government "monopoly". In other words, if we don't think the government is making effective use of its space travel ability, then (with enough funding) we can do it ourselves.
We claim to be one of the most scientifically advanced countries in the world, but we can't adopt a useful standard that the _rest_ of the scientific community uses. Seriously, what is the problem with metric? I find it so much easier to use than the English system. Our government should at least make the attempt to switch over.

It looks really nice, but I wonder if they could port this to OpenGL? This project seems like an ideal candidate for open sourcing... =)
i'm glad it was good for you too
psh.. i've done this to my friends before.. they didn't need to make a website to ask for it...
Dear god... good point... I love how that bit of information interests me, but yet has no relevant utility at all. At least we can dream...

The Flash 8 player was released for Windows today.
Now all we need is a global government or at the very least a "space exploration alliance", with some good guidelines. Ah.. we can dream can't we?

Maybe it's just that this guy saw that movie, and that's why he's complaining.
Obviously they are using the gigantic super-reflecto mirror to direct the light from the sun onto the moon and earth. Duh...
