Perl 5.16.0 Released

Sorry, Perl fanboys, but Perl is dead. Not only has it been eclipsed in the web domain by PHP, J2EE, ASP.Net, Ruby on Rails, and others, but in the scripting domain it has been overtaken by Python.
TIOBE Index seems to disagree: Java, C#, PHP, Python, Ruby all down.
Perl right there at 9, same as it ever was: a good tool for people that want to get work done and not chase the hot flavor of the month.
...you no longer need to resort to violence to prevent Elton John Songs from being played on jukeboxes in bars.
There's always been a non-violent resort: have the proprietor remove Elton John discs/records from the jukebox. If the regulars request it, the owner will be happy to make the regular, paying customers happy.
Excellent, I already Drive Different! Although I'm sometimes told I'm holding it wrong (the steering wheel wrong). Can I get my car equipped with free Apple rubber numbers? I wonder if Apple will start a campaign to get me to "switch" from my Ford Sync-powered vehicle?
This past year I only used 6 of the top 20. NXT-G was one of those.
In previous years I've been up to 10 of the top 20, but that was contracting instead of working a "normal" job. Of course 5 of the top 20 I've NEVER used, but I've still got time before Ada drops off the list.
But for your grandma who still has the 1980's console CRT authentic wood television/coffee table... this is for her. Or my parents, who watch TV once a week who are still using the TV my sister left behind when she left for grad school. This is for them.
It's easy. Why does Slashdot never understand easy?
But the brake-torquing fans are going to be pissed!:D
And the motorsport fans, the fans that actually take their car out on the track for fun "lapping days". Or they were, several years ago, when Nissan introduced the "mash both the gas and brake and gas turns off" feature in their sportscars.

Boy, a sweet five-16th birthday! Happy congratulations, Perl!
So what to get a language for their 5.16th? A new Car-p? Or maybe an actual car from Dad's dealership?
But I'm sure Rhode Island Governor Donald Carcieri has a lot of experience funding tech startups...
From TFA:
Chafee opposed the loan guarantee as a candidate for governor.

Although, I wonder what it says about me that my "security model" is based on quotes from X-Files and Ronald Reagan?
Initial infection occurred when the activist accepted a file called MACAddressChanger.exe over the chat.
Trust no one.
What is Facebook's actual revenues? Something like $200M quarterly?
LA Times is reporting $3.7B annual revenue, so an average $925M quarterly.
It's a penis stretcher.
Go Big or Go Home
But... he's already gone home!
Secrets lead to corruption.
Why Apple's Next Revolution Should Be In Your Car

Obama has issued a veto threat.
Might as well spent a minute or two letting him know that you think he should indeed veto the bill.
First. George Orwell
I think you mean 1,984th?
As someone that didn't vote for McCain, I'm sorry to say that neither your vote nor mine made a damn bit of difference.
Or did he just use a crappy password or have malware already on his computer?
No, but I heard he shared a local network connection with a Mac, and that infected him from all the previously-inactive malware piled up on OS X.

Congrats! You too can have tap water that catches fire.
...so take off all your... skin?
I think you mean "so have all your skin rubbed off".
Yowch.
Can we all just agree it's 1999 again, and have a "do over"?
I, for one, would like to again party like its 1999.

And the motorsport fans, the fans that actually take their car out on the track for fun "lapping days". Or they were, several years ago, when Nissan introduced the "mash both the gas and brake and gas turns off" feature in their sportscars.
But then all the Toyota acceleration madness started happening and Nissan started trumpeting brake override as common-sense and then it suddenly didn't sound like too terrible a feature.
Drama has consequences.
Or your VESA bus, or your MCA bus, or your EISA bus. Or your firewire...
But what about my short, yellow bus? Can parent still use that?
Why do you work for a company that makes a product you think sucks? It must suck, otherwise you wouldn't have a problem.
It had pictures of her baby as the wall paper on it and so on.
She doesn't have a baby, that's probably her sister's son Mason. Although her sister is expecting baby #2.
Wait, this isn't CeleBuzz?
