  1. Choice on Wisconsin Could Ban Mandatory Microchip Implants · · Score: 4, Interesting

I realize that people have a choice as to their jobs and could choose to have a different job rather than be implanted, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. Having chips planted into the body of an emloyee is pretty darn good place to start.

  2. Re:Reaching on The 360 Is Too Cheap? · · Score: 1

~$250 is certainly not a trivial amount. However, that $250 looks more affordable if you believe that they are not going to make the $150 console nigh on obsolete within a matter of months. So I can see how making the jump from $250 to $350 would override the obsolesence concern.

  3. Re:Reaching on The 360 Is Too Cheap? · · Score: 4, Interesting

I don't think that that's necessarily what he's trying to say. Instead, by having the price between a 360 and OG Xbox be so close together, people who would ahve otherwise happily settled for an Xbox tried to pay the extra instead, and you have a crash of shortages. If they had priced it at say $500, then they still would have sold out, would have made more money, would not have shortages, and would have sold more Xbox's. It is certainly a stretch, but there is a note of truth in his logic.

But the X-Files movie could also stand on its own. It was good for anyone who hadn't seen a lot, if any of the TV show, and it was great for those who had. If your sole enjoyment of a movie is predicated on you having read/played/watched the story previously, then it very much little more than crap.

Some points to consider about the Next-Gen war:

    1. The 360 and PS3 are vying to have the best graphics and power for a console.

    2. The Revolution is avoiding that route with a completely different market strategy.

    3. Both iterations of the XBox have performed miserably in Japan.

    4. Since the 360 was designed with an eye towards the Japanese market and MS has consistantly stated that the Japanese market is key to them, their lack of success is important.

    5. Hence the story about their attempt to "re-"introduce the 360 to Japan

    6. Which in turn spawns discussions about how the Next-Gen war will play out. Since GP's position is supported by the above points, it is actually ontopic as to how MS is going to fare.
