The official GMail blog says "over the next few days." I'm hoping mine is activated soon, using POP on the iPhone was driving me nuts with having to mark mail as read twice.

    I laughed at this part:

All of the jpg's that we looked at in the internet cache folders were of the 5, 6 and 15 kB size, very small images indeed. Normally, when a person goes to a pornographic website they are interested in the larger pictures of greater resolution and those jpgs would be at least 35 kB and larger. We found no evidence of where this kind of surfing was exercised on October 19, 2004.

  7. Re:I won't be buying Halo3 on Halo, Nothing But Halo · · Score: 1

Actually, that's the reason I don't really have any intention of buying Halo 3 (unless it's from the bargain bin). The single player didn't have enough game play, and the story was left hanging in a way that made it seem they just chopped the game in half. The multiplayer content at release was buggy, and obviously hadn't been properly tested/tuned (grabbing objects through walls? seriously?). Add in Bungie's inability to write good netcode (whether this was due to limitations of the x-box hardware or not I do not know) and you end up with a game that was over-hyped and then released as an unfinished product.

I'll buy it a couple months after release in the pre-owned bin at the local gamestop or off e-bay. Hopefully that'll give them enough time to patch the multiplayer like they did a few months into Halo 2.

It seems to assume that employers would actually lower the cost of their products instead of pocketing the increased revenue. Sure competition in some markets would weed them out, but I imagine most companies would try to keep their price points the same and pass the tax back to the consumers.

The real shame is that the ones these statements are designed to influence probably don't know that much about OSS, SCO, or anything else that would clue them in to the FUD. That's the problem with open letters, unless published in the right place you won't reach your intended audience.

This is by far the most interesting comment here. We know most manufacturers are shipping almost all new machines with Vista, and knowing that suggests that either the 60 Mil number in the article (which reads like a blog entry) is wrong, or the 40 Mil number doesn't actually include the OEM sales. The question remains, who is actually buying it? I don't know anyone who is running it that actually purchased it. And only have a single friend that has a copy on his new laptop.

Where are these 40 million people?
