I'd say yes. Barring all emissions and fuel arguements, SUVs and trucks still aren't all that great vehicles.
Right now I'm in the bush outside of Teslin, Yukon Territory, Canada, and were dependant on heavy duty or lifted trucks to move geological and drilling supplies around and these trucks (Silverado 2500HDs and such) are just getting at what they should be used for.
In town (Whitehorse) they're horrible to drive, have huge blind spots, take forever to slow down, have very poor weight distribution, handle like complete junk and still manage to carry less than my dad's work van.
A SUV or full size truck shouldn't be on the top of the list for people who aren't in desparate need to carry a few drums of diesel or require large amounts of ground clearence or an insane amount of towing capacity.
Thats not the point of this at all. It's like denouncing the engineering talent that went into a F1 car, for not having enough cargo capacity to fit your vacationing gear.
I've seen this car in person, and it barely comes up past your knees, and looking at it you wonder how the hell someone fit in it at all, not how durable it is in a crash. If you wanted safer maybe take a look at the rollcage on the UBC FSAE ca, but at less than 40kph it would be kind of pointless.
The real question is why the hell would you bother making such a complicated POS. You might as well just go for a Stirling engine from what you're describing.
In all honesty I believe that the money invested in this would make a lot more sense being put into driver's training. It doesn't take speed to make an idiot cause an accident, just look at all the lowish speed collisions on the road that are as a result of Joe Blow not checking his blind spot before he changes lanes or because people often haven't got the slightest clue on how to merge effectively. If I was in the transport minister's place I'd take that money out and start working on subsidies mandatory driver training.
If you don't think this is true, go for a rush hour drive in Richmond BC, you might not get near the speed limit the entire time, but you'll definitly have more than a few really close calls.
I'd have to agree with you. I'm partial to staying out of the states as it is and I live about 15km from the 2 Surrey, BC boarder locations that they refer to on TFA. It's pretty sad.
Ever heard of the marshall plan? Kill communism with kindness. Same shit applies, kill extremism by getting rid of the shitty conditions that spawn it, not blow the shit out of anything that moves.
So if the solarwinds are slower than supersonic speeds out there won't that be decelerating voyager considerably more than before it reached that point? I wonder if this ties in at all into voyager being slower than predicted?
Whats so bad about the health care system? Its a lot better than nothing and with a small benefits package you can get off without paying a cent for serguries and all sorts of stuff that you would be paying through the roof for in the states.
You forgot the cool indigo cube shaped ones too. They looked pretty decent as well, not quite as awsome as the indy but still awsome. Oh.. and you can forget the start up beep:D
The obvious solution is an electric Delorean. No corrosion and it can easily be upgraded to Mr. Fusion power when batteries become obsolete.
Perhaps a trailer?

Its like a giant ERTW being put up there in the face of business. I like it.
Thats Au, the distance from the earth to the sun. Why do you need miles?

Hahaha, not a single team would make it anywhere near Vancouver under solar power with the weather we've been having recently.
Ever heard of the marshall plan? Kill communism with kindness. Same shit applies, kill extremism by getting rid of the shitty conditions that spawn it, not blow the shit out of anything that moves.
Good stuff. August is usually almost all sunshine and about 30C. Its a lot cooler right down on the water though.
70F? Its barely hitting 15C in Vancouver right now. In Toronto they've been having ~40C temps for about a week now. Poor saps :P
Probably just 343m/s.

The buzz of the high voltage lines powering it.
Just wait until the corners though :) I'll still be doing 225km/h and the trucker will be in the ditch or doing 225km/h down the side of a cliff.
My 92' 16v GTi is limited to around 225 km/h. I'm pretty sure thats the redline in 5th though.
Just to make sure that fusion power is always 20 years away, no matter how many advances there are.

Uhh buddy... you spelled retarded wrong.
Ahh yes.. But in Soviet North Korean controlled Nebraska Windows 1.0 only uses old people.
Ahh.. So soon well be getting ECM booster shots and have EMP therapy. Great.

I can see it now. "6.40 Nanometers ought be enough for anybody." Bill Gates, 2010:
