Why is that a such a large portion of the american public will believe the corporate lies that humans aren't responsible for causing havoc to the environment. It's just an obvious thing in my mind that if you put crap into a system, you get a crappy system. Duh! The MAJORITY of scientists all around the world already know this and try to warn us all the time... yet, stupid americans just continue to deny and accuse the scientists of just wanting grant money or something (yeah, nice logic there).

Grow up americans, take some responsibility for your actions and stop denying any wrong-doing.

Well, if you had a look at the site, you'd realize that it lets the neighborhood plan events via a shared calendar, rate local services and businesses, plan car pooling, put up polls about neighborhood issues and search for others with same interests. I really think all this would be unreasonable with any other medium, an internet website is the ideal solution. Doesn't seem horribly wrong to me at all!

  16. sucks to be me on Tech Turnover Rate Lowest Since The 80's · · Score: 1

After graduating with a university degree in math/computer science in 1994, I went to work as a sys-admin at an ISP. Didn't make much money there, but figured it was good for my resume. Later moved out of town when the ISP was starting to fall (like all little ISP's did) and got a job doing Perl web developement, have moved around from start-up to start-up getting Perl or PHP programming jobs fairly easily... but never for much money. Three years ago I tired of jumping around from job to job, so I quit and starting working contracts only. It has been going ok, but not great. If I didn't have a wife working fulltime, I'd have to find a different line of work. Working with computers is the one thing in life I love, but there does not seem be good opportunities there for me.
