It likely wasn't covered becasue it's not really a story. Let's face it, voice acting in games, with a few notable exceptions (GTA pops into my mind), is horrible. Unless I worked on one of these good games, so I could point it out, I'd be embarrassed to say I was a video game voice actor. Secondly, did these voice actors not sign a contract saying they would do a certain amout of work for a certain amount of pay? If so, guess what? On the final point, I don't care about voice acting in most games. The aforementioned GTA aside, I cringe when the cut scenes come in and the wooden actors start reading their lines with little to no feeling. If a video game cost $10 extra because they had to pay one of these people extra, I'd skip it.
Why is 7/10 considered "bad"? 10/10 should be reserved for the pinnacles of their genre. 9/10 should be massively great games that you don't mind playing over and over, maybe even deleting your saves to play again... Etc. Until you get under 5, a game should be at least playable. I hate "out of 10" scores where it's actually "out of 5" and then you add 5. Use the whole scale, people!
Non-profit doesn't mean No-money-at-all. They still have to pay for the ink, paper, binding, (possibly)writers, rental space, light bulbs, heat... Or do you expect these people to donate money to something they're working on for free?
Also, very frequently, non-profit organizations pay their workers. Where do you think that money comes from?
Would you feel the same way if a soapsuds company hired some Chippendale dancers to bump and grind in the aisles of your local grocery store to promote their product?
I'll bite. Yes, I would feel differently. But then again, grocery stores are far more public than E3.
If that soap company, during the national S3 (Stupendous Soap S...omethingathon) extravaganza hired those same dancers to appeal to the women who would be touring their booths? Why not? Are you telling me you think that would be wrong?
What I am confused about is, although those booth babes are being horribly mistreated and exploited, I haven't heard one of them complain.....
I wonder why that is.....
I know, could it be because they're making good cash for standing around and doing nothing (or next to it)? I'm sorry, but if I was a chick and looked like them I'd happily take the job, sweaty dudes and all.
To give up a job to publish free (as in everything) show on the web, that means he's either got cajones the size of bowling balls or his job absolutely sucked.
I'll give this show a shot, and may even not block the ads (if there are any)
People want you to use OGGs because they sound better. People can rip their music as OGGs and it's going to sound better than music from P2P (almost all MP3s) and their non-open-source-using friends. This is going to make them think "wow, maybe this open source stuff really is better; I should tell all my friends" even if it's subconsciously, and then free software wins.
*Podcasting is a fad. It is new (as in new buzzword), uses a cool technolgy (iPods) and gives people something to do. Remember (or have you heard of) the pet rock, the hula hoop, Beanie Babies and Tickle-me Elmo? People jumped on the bandwagon, spent a lot of money buying these items and then realized - "This isn't that fun, that great or that cool. Why did I think it was?"*
One problem with your analogy is that podcasting (Can we think of another word for this? I hate that word. How about Poopeating? I'd rather say I listen to poopeats than podcasts) doesn't cost any money and surely doens't/require/ an ipod. I don't have one, and I listen to several weekly podcasts and am always looking for more.
Considering they said it's environmentally safe, I doubt it's mercury. Considering it's intended to/cool/ your gpu, I doubt it's molten lead.
Even if it were either, why couldn't it be good? 20x the cooling sounds pretty good to me, and if it's safe and environmentally friendly, what's the problem?
I've always been impressed with the lighthearted (in a legal sense, I'm sure pirvately they're quite pissed about the whole thing) Hormel has been with the use of their product name in such a negative light. I don't think many companies would take such a view. I mean, Microsoft won't even let you market a product whose name SOUNDS like 'Windows.' I think that Hormel's stand in this case is reasonable. /hates both spam and SPAM.

Good thing I saved all my russian pr0n.

I feel bad for these guys and their injuries, but do people NOT know that you don't light glass tubes of gasoline on fire?
How did these guys make it this far into life?
And, lastly, where's the video?
...Until I see a photograph of my files with today's paper.
*On a side note, doesn't ZDNet have a spell checker?*
They're trying to move into Europ, of course they're going to spell "center" wrong.
(Note to angry Brits, this is intended to be funny, not an angry, evil American stabbing at what you strongly feel is the correct way to spell a word)

This is /so/ /interesting/!
They took gullible out of the dictionary!?
Seriously, though, have you ever made a sarcastic comment to a gullible person? Good times. Good times.
Scientists also located the area of the brain responsibile for gullibility, and they now have a procedure to remove that section of your brain.
Yeah, I imagine 150 years from now people joking, "10 to the power of 60 ought to be fine tuned enough for anybody."
And they only take reservations millennia in advance. I hate to cancel now.
"I'm a bit daft, and I like to ..."
Hey, wait a minute!
I don't see where they're saying that becoming an Engineer will guarantee you a son. They're noting the correlation and nowhere implying a causality.
Repeat after me, "Lack of causality does not make the correlation insignificant."

I just hope I can personalize it any way I want, so I can get it to look like this.
20x
Sorry, s/20/65/

Cheese? I see no cheese in this recipe!?
