I work at Habitat 40 hours a week, it's my job. I'm also a geek, and love the advance of new tech like this, enabling my friends in small bands and record labels to distribute their stuff without spending tons of cash on webservers and hosting.

This isn't flamebait. This is a valid and common concern amongst Mac users who look for interface consistency throughout their applications.

They've been trying to do this for over a year now, and still no good progress. To completely redo the FFox interface in standard cocoa widgets is hard to do and keep feature parity. Anyways, I thought one purpose of OSS was to have a choice? Camino is a slim, lightweight browser that does one thing -> Browse the Web. FireFox is now an ecosystem of a program, where you can browse the web, take notes, do ftp transfers and much more.

Alt+tab does not cycle JUST through the application windows. This is something that I found I missed sorely when going back to my PC. I didn't want to cycle through each single window and application, I just wanted the windows from say, Microsoft Word.

CMD+M is more convenient and quite frankly, more intuitive than ALT SPACE N for minimizing.

I've never had to change the default settings to access the dock or menu from the keyboard. Hm.

What are you talking about. You can access the menus and dock and everything completely from the keyboard by default. And in fact, since switching to the Mac, there are tons of things available on it that aren't on the PC. These include CMD+` for cycling through current application windows, CMD+M for minimizing windows, the ability to print directly to PDF's, so on and so forth.

While idealistically, the idea of open source appeals to me, the reality is that my preference in software always leans towards closed source products (Proteus over Adium for IM, Omniweb over Firefox for web, OSX over Linux). However, the three companies I just mentioned have earned my trust over time. They know how to treat their customers well, and support the community surrounding them.
