Insects.. watch out. I once caught a bumble bee between a metal window screen and the glass.

I watched as the bugger used its pincers or mouth, to cut through the wires one by one until it had a hole the size of a dime in the screen. Damn!

Those who think screens are enough, think again.. Just don't motivate them to get past it.

By the way, THIS actually happened.

Good reply, to my original post. This is exactly the kind of discussion I wanted to stimulate. Too often old, but valid designs are not used just because a company convinces the government that a new design is needed. If we grant you your position, then I concede that there might be benefit in further research.

Smaller, tactical nukes might be a good thing. Might. But wouldn't there be another way to fund fusion energy research that would me more profitable for progress?

  16. Re:Colony on the moon on New Crater On Moon Caught On Video · · Score: 1
Sure a lunar base is small in comparison to the moon, but that does not really answer the question.

The comparison should be between the size of the base and the average number of meteorite collisons per sq. meter of the moon's surface in the bases vincinity per year.

Since the moon has no atmosphere, we can expect more collisions with the surface of the moon, of course, than with the Earth's surface, despite the higher gravitation of the earth.

So that's the question. Can anyone answer it?
