i feel a great big haha coming on, but its nice to see that there is someone in microsoft who has the wits NOT to run their own dog food, at least someone thre has a brain, mind, its no constiation when i see my hotmail account full to the brim with spam, even with every security setting that microsoft would allow running ho hum
i think it was arther c clarke that came up with this, apart from the cool ness factor what on earth would be the point, i suppose you could use it to download yourself into a robot/cyborg thing, and if you died in a road acidnet they could "download" you into a new body, but it just seems to be a bit of a gimic at the moment, whoo lookat me i'm on a dvd sorta thing.
imagine a beawolf cluster of theese things, oh hang on, its already a cluster....er in that case, can you port it to linux or play play half life on it????? bet it cant do solitare
undoubtably the thing you are most famous for is Kirk , first which was your favorite film? and if you'd have known back then what star trek would have become and the shear number of piss takes on to name one the way you.....did....this...... would you st=ill have done it?
so this only means that solaris runs more of the traditional linux software, that kinda cool, all i need now is a sun box, i bet tux racer would go sweet on an ultrsparc
hang on, solaris, becomeing linux compliant????
eh????????
i thought solaris, being UNIX was posix complient, and so didnt need to be LSB compliant. hang on wont this turn solaris into a linux clone, but linux is a unix clone................
i'm gonna go and lie down, i think i'm dreaming
i have a laptop with a desktop proccessor, to be honest i dont notice the difference in speed, with normal every day tasks there is no need for the proccessing horsepower. AND i've noticed that i actually get a better battery lifetime on my machine then someone with a 'mobile' chip....
there are advantages to having a desktop proc.
is it the interface? is it too hard to understand the results? are the occasional chineese etc entries too much for some people? why oh why cant anyone use google!!!!!
why is that more and more IT stuff has to be covered in that horrible silver effect plastic?
its not cool and it makes them look cheap, there are a lot of good laptops out there ruined by crappy silver oh_look_how_cool plastic. give me titanium anyday
but then at $99 it is quite cheap already.....
hmmmm, looks like you get what you pay for
which of the "big " players in silicon valley, hp sun etc do yo think will stil be here in say 20 years? and why? it seems that companies pop in and out of existance almost on a daily basis in the technology world
surely that'll give clippy home ground advantage, and where's clippys motercycle.....?
maybe clippy is the sort of thing linux is lacking, an animated tux that will on click do something pointless and unnecessary and waste some nice proc cycles.
i miss clippy in open office..... do you think he'd run independantly uisng wine?
anyway, tux would kick clippys ass, cos he's got the power of free software
quite possibly, and i'm not sure if its a good thing!
