Supposedly the success rate for Russian launchs between 1980-1999 is around 94% while the success rate for american launches is around 86%.
Russians are more experience having launched 2589 times with 181 losses while Americans launched 1152 times with 164 losses.
Now that the shuttles have been retired I'm going to assume the Russians will be really far ahead but maybe it's better that way with globalization right?
As much as I like spaceX I find their newer untested technology not really viable for manned flight.
They can't be trusted to carry anything other then low cost cargo until they've worked out their problems.
Shouldn't we be trying to detect life first?
I've always wondered why we haven't detected absorption spectra for chlorophyll or a similar material (I read recently about the possibility of grey/black leafed plants) in space around stars.
If plants are black then they won't leave much reflected light to detect.
I can understand this. I find it a little repulsive if someone like moore (fat, rich, and intelligent enough to know better) would badger someone who is probably a minimum wage employee at a store. Meanwhile there are bigger fish to fry such as the store owner, the franchise, the lobbyists and the government.
It was designed to be similar to FFXI. The problem is that FFXI had terrible controls back then but people tolerated it more.
Now everyone has experience with many different MMO's and even the worst MMO's allow you to pick your preferred control style.
The game needed more polish for the game controls and user interface.
That's what happens when you focus on cutscenes and graphics and not gameplay and user interface.
SpaceX is trying to make rocket launchs come off an "assembly-line". This alone would be an impressive feat.
Comparing this to a 1964 launch would be like comparing the 8086 cpu to modern quad core.
My amature opinion on the launch:
I don't think spacex has been totally successful as mentioned by quite a few other posts.
They keep spiraling out of control, they need better rocket/jet rudders or something to improve their out of atmosphere control.
Mnt St. Helen's has already blown her head off what else is there to do but let off steam and a little magma until she rebuilds her crown up.
Now if this was going on at Mt Fuji I would say KABOOM!
You can also find yourself sitting at the table where people know each other and are in cahoots. Sharing information about what is in their hand via instant messaging.
Purvayor of WMDs and now nuclear power stations.
Your not allowed to make your own but we'll sell you these instead!
Sounds like they are shutting down the competition and then selling them whatever they've just stopped them from making.
So Iran and North Korea are looking to be the US's first customers.
I don't think this movie can possibly be better then bent tv's news reel on the "The passion of Tupac".

Friction with the ground is what allows the car to move its also what will slow it down along with wind resistence and internal frictions.
The heavier the car weights the more friction it generates with the ground.
You can try reducing the wheel size to reduce the friction but then you would require steel roads since you would sink into the ground.
This is what call a locomotive. =) Choo choo.
Its not really blackmail. I don't understand why he was put in jail. Its like giving someone a program and taking it back if they don't pay for it. Nothing wrong with that imo. The Judge who sentanced him to 2 years in jail should be shot.
Maybe we're missing something here? Maybe he was going to do more then delete his own program which wasn't paid for.
I want to use one application from them and now apparently when I try to close MSN messager I can't unless I shut down the first application.
"There are other applications currently using features provided by MSN messenger, You must close these other applications before you can exit MSN Messenger. These applucations may include Outlook, Outlook Express, MSN, MSN Explorer, Internet Explorer and Three Degrees."
Someone please help me uninstall this virus from my computer!
Wait a second didn't microsoft lose a court case saying they couldn't do this sort of crap already once? Looks like its business as usual to me.
His thumbs are as big as the screen. Will this be like Mac where one button does all.
Andre will have to type morse code beep, beep, beep, beeeeeep,... , beep, beep,...., beeeeeep.
All it requires is for Ken to have a bad night and someone who is half decent to have a good night. The real problem is that the competition isn't even close to Ken's level. Typically when Ken goes into Final Jeopardy he's double the 2nd place contestants score. (He would double my score easily if I even had a positive score.)
I was able to get 4/5 on the comic book trivia that was a pretty easy category. Damn that Invincible Iron Man question for 2000.
Oh well you get the point.
I'm tired of getting duped into watching these movies. Japanese or Chinese its all the same. Something lost in translation or something that can't be translated (culturally ingrained) that make these movies stink for NA's like myself.
I remember being disappointed. I think it was overhyped or something because I found it slow moving and dull. As well the how spirtual message wasn't deep or insightful as my friends had make it out to me.
Same with crouching tiger hidden dragon. I guess for some North Americans these Japanese movies are just not cutting it.
They released some of their code in previous programming contests. The code allowed users to access their compressed data file format(compressed/indexed HTML) and quickly run seachs on them. As well they provided 20->200 megs of sample data. (Something like that)
It was a couple years ago.

Nothing. Its a poor analogy.
What I'm trying to say is that many a developer for hire who joins a project late will be playing the catch up game.
Much like in Zeno's paradox with the runner.

I love this series. Coop will only make it better. (Unless they screw it up, which is not likely)
You know I was going to argue the exact same thing. Except I was going to use facts and figures. However when I looked up US spending it is comparable percentage wise to China and Russian GDP spending. The US spends more money but they get less bang for their buck. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2034rank.html Use google to compare spending. Pretty cool! http://www.google.ca/publicdata/explore?ds=d5bncppjof8f9_&met_y=ms_mil_xpnd_gd_zs&idim=country:USA&dl=en&hl=en&q=us+military+spending

But when you factor in those $1 million dollar hammers they used the cost grows to 1 billion.

HDD = Heffer Disk Drive
