    $85 was my actual usage and the rest was a "Cost of fuel adjustment"

    This thing will could possibly generate HUGE amounts of SE as the atmosphere whizzes past it 24/7. Are there plans to capture and use this electricity or what??

    Get rid of fucking WINDOWS! Damn!
    Windows is the NUMBER ONE PROBLEM with computers and the Internet now.

    The number two problem is stupid people. Most people have zero concept of what's happening when they click the mouse. They should be using computers on the internet anyway, like drunken bums with TB they bang around the net, spreading germs and disease where ever they go.

    Get rid of windows, period and forbid stupid people from going online period and most of the problems will go away.

    Seriously, I've sat down and talked to people about security on their systems and they look at you like a puppy that just woke up from a nap. They are clueless. Most of them deserve to have their shit hacked and info ripped off and CC #s jacked, just because they are so freaking dense. One old man I talked to, numerous times, about security leaves his M$ box on 24/7 and his cable (used to be DSL) modem on all the time.

    He buys stuff on the internet all the time and it just thrills him and befuddles him into silly bliss that he can click "add to my cart" then "check out" and UPS is knocking on his door a few days later with his book, video or whatever.

    No matter how many times I tell him to turn the damn modem off when he's not using it, he just won't do it. He claims his "guru" friend takes care of his computer for him. His "guru" friend is an idiot, I've met him, he's a mouth breather.

    Stupid people + M$ spells computer/Internet constipation...

    I can't imagine that. You walk in Worst buy and ask for Linux and you get stupid looks from the mouth breathers.

    I did go into Fry's in Houston though and found Suse 8.2 and Redhat 9 on the shelf in retail boxes. If they had Mandrake 9.1 on the shelf I would have bought it on the spot.

    If they ever do have it on the shelf ANYWHERE, I will buy it. But fuck if I will pay money to download something.

    I don't purchase ANYTHING, EVER on or through the Internet, for any reason. I buy stuff from stores off the shelf, I walk in, pick up the box, carry it to the register and pay for it with CASH, as in green, dead presidents.

    I would certainly buy a 9.2 DVD from a store shelf if I could find one but I won't do it through the internet/mail...

    Never saw the ads, I always watch the "details" window during install, I don't care for the propaganda pep rally during install. If I'm installing it, I'm already sold on it. No need to get me hyped up for something that I'm going to use anyway.

    Sort of like the Win 98 pep rally during install, total, absolute, laughable bullshit.

    I won't use anything that forces ads down my throat.
    As it is now my firewall blocks ads (smoothwall w/ad zapper)

    It blocks a huge number of them, it's very, very rare that I'm assaulted with annoying ads. It stops most scripts, gifs, and flash ads.

    But still, I totally abandoned Winbloz because of this very sort of thing (among many other reasons.)

    What's next? Spyware?? Come to think of it, having read how the ads are served, SOMEONE will be gathering statistics on who, what, where, when, etc..

    Count on this info being sold and traded too.

    This is a sad day in Linux world.
    I'll stick with 9.1 and just add in the goodies of 9.2 (if there really are any) peicemeal.

    Maybe Texstar will clean this up. I'm not skilled enough to do that so don't give me a hard time, I'm learning. But, if 9.2 turns out to be the killer OS that sets the world on fire I *MAY* purchase it on DVD.

    Worse comes to worse I may have to switch to Suse or Debian. But whatever the end brings up, I will *NOT* be using the adware version. That's simply bullshit and I'll have none of that..

    Bad move Mandrake. You'll alienate a *LOT* of fans...

    P.S. Adware is usually the first attempt to salvage a dying biz..

    Well, you are pretty much on the money, I have to agree with you mostly. But.

    I'm on a personal Jihad against M$ and it's my duty to do everything I can to show everyone I come in contact with what a $hitty O$ M$ is..

    I give Linux to the people that I like and that I care about. I give Winbloz to the people I either don't like or the people that I want to make money off of.

    Sounds mean?? No, that's just business. I don't make money on Linux, it's just too solid and stable to do that. But Winbloz, well, it's the turd that won't flush. No matter what you do and how hard you work at it, you can't keep a M$ install clean and or running properly.
    M$ is the TOTAL, 24/7 maintenance O$..

    So, it makes no good sense to me to really rid the world of M$, that would be killing the goose that laid the golden egg...

    M$=guaranteed income for techs...

    That freeze and rotate crap is very, very old already.

    And showing something blow up 8 times from 8 different angles. When was the last time you saw something like that? Or showing a bullet in slow motion as someone ducks it?

    Once again, I beat the dead horse and state that special effects are mind opiates for the shallow minded general public. And the other purpose they serve is to distract from the fact that;
    1. The plot either sucks or is non-existent.
    2. The "actors" or "actresses" suck. They can't act. (Neo comes to mind)

    They overload the senses with bullshit so you don't notice that the movie is total crap..

    so I jump started it from my refridgerator.
    After examing the icebox and it's contents, I decided to call Entergy and have them cut the wires to my house. Every few weeks or so I throw a pizza or two in there for it to consume.

    I just left it plugged in. It *PUTS* power back into my house wiring this way.

    I only wish I were gifted enough to do stuff like that.

    Yeah, I know Myst was a simple puzzle game but it was *different* than the other games out there at the time. My kids liked it a lot and I played with them and I got to like it too.

    It was a neutral, non violent game that makes you think rather than kill everything.
    The graphics and sound were pleasant to see and hear and overall it had a calming effect.
    When my son was little he would watch Ninja turtles then beat on his sister during commercials. He would play his NES and do the same thing. Myst gave him (and his sister) a game to play that didn't make them have violent fits. And as far as I was concerned, that was *GOOD*...

    I would like to play it again just for nostalgia sake. Like I have an old IBM XT 5160 set aside for playing the original Sierra games like KQ1 - KQ3 and SQ1-SQ3 (and some more if I can find them. Those were fun for *me* back then.. (I'm 42 BTW and I like the older stuff better...)

    I found *no* mention of the platform so I *assume* it's M$ only??

    I tried the get the *original* myst to run under winex from transgaming and it's a no-go..

    Any hope of ever seeing a Linux port of any of these games? I really liked Myst, way back when.

    I even have an original copy of "Drowned God" somewhere that I would like to play once again someday. I hate to think of installing M$ just to play a game or two and I can't stand the thought of connecting an M$ loaded machine to my broadband (virus pipe)..
