no offense, but if you've got Mandrake 9.1 all "Fuxored up" I don't think you have much luck with Gentoo. Mandrake is pretty much an entry level distro. Gentoo is NOT entry level. BTW, I use both. I like Mandrake because it works very, very well with my boxes, I have 9.1 installed on 4 machines here at home, my sons' machine at college, my dad's machine, three friends, and two customers. Everyone likes it. I have Gentoo on a TOTAL DOG of a 200mhz Pentium1, just because I wanted to indulge in a little masochism. You have to be a twisted nut to do a stage 1 Gentoo build said machine.. (one week just compiling the kernel....)
It's my sweetheart. It's always been nice to me, never gave me any trouble, always works when I want it to and no backtalk, ever.
I use it to this day. I've had it since '84 or '85 and only changed the batteries twice. I use it almost every day. I wouldn't give it up for the world, best calc I ever had.

It's cell phones and Cable service for me. BTW, I get 3.2Mbps average on RR and 300Kbps upload. I can't complain except about the price, I would like to see it knocked down by $10 or more a month.
And lastly, I am not ignorant of DSL technology. The techs around here had no idea how to install it when they showed up at my office, my home, the offices of my friends or their homes. I had to be there to tell them how to install it on the systems and how to configure the DSLAMS to work properly. They are stupid bastards. They know how to run wire but that's all they know..
As you find mail that SA flags the wrong way, move it to the missed-spam or not-spam folders then use sa-learn --ham or --spam options to train it. Also run sa-learn --ham on your normal mail folders that contain KNOWN GOOD emails.
I made up a semi-bogus email addy, it's real in that mail sent to it gets to me, but when I'm done, I'll flush it down the tubes.

I went and dropped it all over usenet in the pr0n groups, went to every viagra site I could find, clicked on every banner add I saw.
It took a few weeks but I finally got the desired results. You'll have to put up with some extremely offensive email for awhile so make sure the wife and kids can't get to it during this phase.
After doing this for a few weeks I was getting 50+ spams a day. Now that I have spamassassin all tuned up I just don't check mail on that account. Once I feel that I no longer have the need to tweak SA, I'll just dump the account..

and by god, I expect to get UNLMITED access.
I pay $60 a month and the contract says, UNLIMITED. If they begin to limit me, I'll sue them.
If I want LIMITED access, I'll downgrade to DSL or dialup. Personally, I would rather sandpaper a bobcat's ass in a phonebooth than use SBC/DSL..
