    They wouldn't take me off the list so I contacted the state attorney general. He put a stop to that immediately. He sent them a letter asking why they were violating state and federal laws regarding telemarketing and they were like "oops! sorry!"

    That would be more like if SBC bought both AT&T and Verizon as GTE was one of the large chunks of the old system. (GTE + some other companies made up Verizon)

    We had 6 new employees start the other day. They will all be regional managers for some division of the company. They all got new Dell laptops and are needing access to some kind of Oracle software that runs a java client inside IE. First of all the client would not run at all because activex was completely disabled. So I reset it to "Prompt" and after a warning it installed and worked. Later one of the people teaching the software said "We're going to need to get rid of that prompt, it is too annoying." Oh great, they want me to disable any active X warnings because "they are annoying". They didn't have a list of safe sites to use so they want it completely disabled. I might as well set their home page to comet cursor or gator.

    They have had this for years. You can remotely boot the systems over an IP network, go into the bios etc. It's a special card that acts like a video card that you can access over an IP network.

    I have the windows resource kit installed and it picked one of the files and called it a trojan.

    I used Firefox exclusively at MS. And I didn't try to hide it. Most MS people just kinda shrug about IE's problems. "Let some guy in India fix it"

    The lense in your eye focuses and sharpens things as much as 100,000x. Remeber how a 20x magnifying glass can burn a hole in a piece of paper? So if a 5mW laser goes to your eye it can really do some damage. Compare it to trying to balance a 1 kilogram book on your head vs a 1 kilogram pole with a sharpened point.
