This has been addressed in version 1.4.
From the install docs:
Note: A complete Gentoo Linux 2-CD set contains the Gentoo Reference Platform, which is a complete pre-built Gentoo Linux system including GNOME, KDE, Mozilla, and OpenOffice. The Gentoo Reference Platform ("GRP") was created to allow rapid Gentoo Linux installs packages for those who need this capability. The "compile from source" functionality, which is the cornerstone of Gentoo Linux, will always be a fully-supported installation option as well. The purpose of the GRP is to make Gentoo Linux more convenient for some users, without impacting Gentoo's powerful "compile from source" installation process in any way.
Cool stuff!
Not only that, when something gets screwed up, it'll probably be blamed on the guy that works from home. You miss out on all the office politics if you're working from home.
Criticizing a president is not "Anti-American". In fact it's quite "American" and patriotic to point these things out.
America was started when a group of people disagreed with their British rulers and rose up against them. Hence "the right to bear arms", "free speech", "freedom of the press", "civil rights"... (You know. All the things that are being taken away through things like The Patriot Act.)
Now, if you speak out against Bush or the US government (past or present) you're being anti-American?!? "You're either with us or you're with the Terrorists"? Something's definitely wrong here.
"An evil mind, given the power to rule, or who has forcefully taken the power to rule, can be a far more dangerous weapon of mass distruction than any Atomic weapon. "
Wow. It sounds like you're talking about Bush there.
Wow. Someone has no idea what they're talking about.
RMS has never said anything at all that you claim. He wants you to use the GNU tools any way that you want, he doesn't want everything prefaced by GNU, and the fact that you're using the Linux kernel is not what he's bitching about.
Please. Go read anything he's ever written, and then try to tell me that you're right.
I was referring to when you said:
And "free as in speech" pretty much means open source.
I didn't say that I was for or against anything that RMS has said. I was merely pointing out that if you knew anything at all about what RMS stands for, you would know that "free as in speech" and "open source" are two entirely different things. The fact that he has been paid for writing code is completely irrelevant to anything that he has to say, since the "free" in "free software" doesn't refer to price.
From his website:
The iBox name was created before the mass press on this item. The product will no longer bare the name 'iBox'. I am not here to clash with Apple legal. The project itself (the act of creating the computer) will be called the iBox project but the product itself will not bare an 'iNAME' to avoid consumer confusion. A few different names we have in Mind:
TINA (this is not an apple)
CORE (get it? apple core?)
MORE TO COME....
So I guess it's not going to be called an iBox.
Someone got a hold of my friend's SSN, and used it to buy a bunch of computers from Buck-a-Day and Dell. Now he's got to go through the hassle of filing police reports and fixing his credit.
This has happened three times now. Twice the scam was successful, the third time his account had been flagged and they weren't able to purchase more computers. He still had to go through the hassle of filing police reports and trying to repair his credit.
Oh yeah. The computers were delivered to an address HERE IN THE CITY and the police won't pursue charges because they claim that they can't prove who actually received the computers.
Shouldn't the parents be responsible for teaching their children that it's just a game and that it's wrong to commit violent acts? Parents shouldn't be relying on TV and video games to raise their kids and teach them right from wrong.
Video games don't make kids kill. The fact is that whenever kids go crazy and shoot up their school, people want to find something to blame for it. It's much easier to blame video games than it is to take a real look at what went wrong.
Besides. Everyone knows that Ozzy, Judas Priest, and Marilyn Manson are responsible. Hahaha!
There's no doubt in my mind that Windows dominates in general workstation usage, but Linux rules in the server market. It's cheaper, more stable, more secure, and more configurable.
Sure, W2K is a lot more stable than previous versions of Windows, but I HAVE YET to see Linux lock up or fail to meet my server needs. Why settle for W2K when you can have all you need in a server for free with Linux?
Yes, but be sure not to let the smoke out of your processor. The smoke needs to stay inside it in order for it to run properly.
I'm using 2.6.0-test3 just to be safe!
W32/Blaster delivers its payload against windows update -- on the 16th. Debian turns 10 -- on the 16th. Coincidence? I think not!
I don't need to. I have this little program called msblast.exe that'll do that for me.
So you don't remember Nimbda and Code Red? Clez? I think they all spread much faster than this.

So anytime you buy something, you've signed an invisible contract? Get real.

We'll never know, because there's no way to accurately measure it. Besides. Who cares?

The GPL put kiddie porn on my computer.
You've obviously never read anything that Richard Stallman has ever written about free software.

vulva+diaper Hahaha.

So what? If someone bought that game and went out and raped and killed a 3 year old, do you honestly think that it was because of the game?

Agreed.
How about just adding a silent "K" or an extra "X" to the end? KPhoenix Phoenixx
What if someone steals my DVD? Ack!
