remember that Gamespy was focusing on dumb moments in gaming history, not dumb moments in graphic card manufacturer history.
since Sega is involved, it becomes directly related to gaming.
however I do think that Glide should get a mention as well, because of it's proprietary nature. Both OpenGL and DirectX are not locked into any graphic mfg chipset.
I have found the Gravis Gamepad Pro to be the perfect gamepad to use with ZSNES as the layout is exactly the same plus the two additional shoulder buttons work well for speeding up/slowing down emulation
The only problem is I got a dodgy gameport model that the d-pad is overly sensitive with down-angles

So if I am traveling at light spead, in my station wagon and I turn on the headlights, what will happen? And how does the doppler effect apply to this?
I notice a few design flaws, namely the bottle is pointing straight up! Talk about bad aerodynamics(no wonder it sucked at jumping), would it hurt to somehow put it at an angle?
Basicly a jog-wheel that functions as a d-pad; which means 2 analog directions and 4 digital.
The real problem here is implementing this or any other multidirectional system on a mouse so it's not cumbersome, especially if Apple plans to keep the "no-button" design.
after reading 3dRealms forums for a while it seemed that 3dRealms was NOT going to release the source code for it at all.
but anyway, I am looking forward to a OpenGL/Direct3d port; possibly with 3d (md2-like) models.

I'm agahst! thats a Feature that was implemented into Windows XP. What! did Microsoft actually beat Apple to the punch for once, or did they rip it from somewhere else other than Apple?
I have never gotten around to taking apart a game cartridge before, but I have seen in some of the translucent (it was a Game Boy color game)cases a battery like a CMOS battery. which leads me to belive that the data is sometimes carried on a volital RAM chip
It would not surprise me if it varies on which cartrige uses what medium
However with the advance of CD based systems, I guess that intergating the game saves on the game cartrige has gone the wayside
There ARE benifits to wearing clip-ons ya know!
Sounds like Acclaim is behind this.
Is it that hard to search Google News and post the NY Times article with the google partner in the link??
I wonder why the slashdot editors don't do this?
No wait! Pitfall was made by Activision.
Ok, there were no games made by Acclaim that I liked
I think Pitfall was the last Acclaim game I actually liked
Well, I don't know much at all about the music biz, so I would not know who composes their own music and who are just performers of pre-written music.
I guess what I really meant was that I would not like to see the over-hyped artists recording game sound tracks.
last thing I want to see is N'sync or Christina Agulera making game music.
I most certainly hope good quality composers make the game music
On a side note, one of the better places to listen to game music is GamingFM. But beware of the Sonic Arcade tracks.

yeah, when are we going to get NES, SNES and N64 adaptors?
Now that would be a killer app!
Got a BitTorrent Link for that?
oh, wait a sec...

This must be Taco's revenge for all the Slashdotters who have been complaining of the happening the past month dupes
Here's the right Google cache link
