These are the requirements for an Employment Visa

EMPLOYMENT VISA: An appointment letter, contract letter, applicant's resume and proof that the organization is registered in India are required. Duration of visa would depend on the period of the contract.

This article is essentially a troll - its about someone whose job was outsourced, who joined Anti-H1B in the US, who had asked "someone" for a job in india and got turned down. I can understand the difficulty someone can go through while hunting for jobs, but it cant be an excuse for posting false info.

  10. Re:Uh.... on Essay Grading Software For Teachers · · Score: 1

except that they are grading essays for english compositions and the criteria for scoring might vary from test to test.

For example, in the GRE (one of the tests that is governed by the ETS, developers of the software) one can expect to get away with some gramatical errors and manage a score of 5/6. But major gramatical flaws will not get you beyond 4/6 however convincing/insightful your essay may be. Beyond a point poor english/composition does affect how the reader interprets the information, and only seems fair to be part of the essay assesments.

There's nothing that says .NET = MSFT and Windows any more than Jave = Sun and Solaris.

While I agree that Mono does exist as an alternative, even if at an early stage of development, it would require some serious funding from microsoft to be considered as a standard framework for critical applications. Do you think Microsoft would invest that money for its development ? If they ever did have a real intention in making .NET platform independent, they could have done it as they were building it from scratch. .NET itself is an efforts to provide an alternative to J2EE which can keep people on windows.

By making an OS together, they could probably build one from scratch with their native language support without English as the intermediary anywhere in the processes.
