The most overrated feature of the space elevator is the fact that it doesn't require the elevator to be in space again to get people down. Instead people returning to earth get to using the "swirl down the pole fireman style" method.
By radio I didn't mean streaming from your computer, but a fully functional digitally tuned FM radio. I'm not sure why you would want to have radio only coming from phone only when it is within the very small range of the computer.
I spose it would be more convenient to have headphones coming from your mobile rather than the PC, but then again why not just use the speakers?
Yet another phone that includes both a camera and bluetooth but fails to extend the features to the next logical step. The step? A webcam.
To make the connection would involve only a small amount of code so why not? While they are at it, an FM radio is a nice (but largely ignored) touch. Also something that I have yet to see in a phone is universal remote control features for your television and stereo systems etc.
All in all the 3 very useful features (IMO) would probably cost less than $30 to include in a $650 phone.
Dan Davies, an engineer at Solar Century, a renewable energy company based in London, UK, says that Spheral's new material looks very similar to blue denim.
I just know my wife is going to want, no _need_, Levi stonewash solar panels with a hipster fit.
This problem has bit me on the bum a few times too. About 1 message in every 250 spam is a false hit. Course thats about once a day:(
I know it's a pain but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and get another email address. You would soon gain the time spent migrating back through having less time spent sifting through SPAM.
Anyone getting the idea that I'm sick of seeing the complaints too?
Personally I like playing "Who wants to be a google millionaire". As I watch the show I race the contestants to the answer before they can "lock it in".
Good for sharpening your search skills, but I spose it also just makes me a geeky loser in the end.
Mostly its about adware & spyware and other wretched bits of software that make the internet suck a little more each day.
Rubbish. The Internet is getting better everyday. Pop-ups are becoming less common (especially using Moz), businesses are using better business models and delivering things on time, email filters are working more effectively, and the world is speeding towards most home users having broadband (and therefore more sites providing more content).
....how do you alleviate the fears of over 5,000 dedicated users and get them to accept the idea of the project going open source...
I think they are right to have some fears. When a project goes open source the number of people looking at the code jumps significantly, and therefore the potential number of bugs / security holes that could be found. It is likely that the current version of their software will need to be updated quickly to reflect patches to the holes.
I'm certainly not saying that going open source is a Bad Thing, just that does have short term negative consequences for users.
Jacer cat got your tongue? (something important seems to be missing from your article submission... like the date!)
Considering that you suggest that you are giving an "early warning" and suggesting that "It'd make for a long work or school day" that kind of information might be important.
BTW Nov. 19th if you didn't make it to the article.
The following feature is really undersold. IMO Nokia's innovation will have them the number one phone manufacturer for a long while to come.
Equipped with secure mobile connectivity, employees can then access corporate information such as customer contracts and agreements using their mobile terminals over a secured VPN connected to their corporate network.
Especially as these will be pitched at the family car market, will the hybrid cars cost more to maintain? How does the cost of parts compare with the cost of gas cars? Do the fuel savings offset this cost?
I submitted the story, here are a few interesting stats on our programming marathon.
Team: Matt and Ben
Start time: 2.30pm Thursday
Finish Time: 5.30pm Friday
University: Deakin University (yes that meams the story has a spelling error but it was deliberate because/. is US centric and US editors pick the stories)
Coffees: Matt ~12, Ben ~9
Ciggie breaks (5 mins): Matt ~15, Ben N/A
Final URLs: Private (you don't really need them, and I don't particularly wanna hear troll comments on our code)
Accidental Walk-ins into the wrong computer lab due to lack of sleep: Matt ~4, Ben ~9 (had a shocker)
Accidential deletions of good code due to lack of sleep / backups: Matt 1, Ben 0
Final Grade: Not available yet
Reasons for lack of organisation: Lack of programming ability of the other 3 coders (their code was so useless they weren't even invited to the session, 3rd year computing students using WYSIWYG frontpage code to program HTML!), lack of organisation, under-estimation of the time it would take to complete some code. Of course we had done a very considerable amount of work prior to the start of this final session.
Dinner/Lunch breaks: Matt - 30 mins dinner, Ben 30 mins dinner/ 10 mins lunch
Days needed to recover: Matt 2, Ben ??

Your submission doesn't mention your formal education. How about looking at picking up a certification like an RHCE, CCNA, etc?
Sure, it is more expensive than teaching yourself if your boss won't pickup the tab, but would be beneficial regardless.
