    I haven't read anything that indicates the chip does anything other than listen for specific speech patterns and send specific commands to the computer (actually power on is really the only thing I can tell it actually does). I doubt there is any way of retrieving the audio input from the chip. They would have to go out of their way to even incorporate this capability which if it existed would pretty much mean a large number of people wouldn't buy the chip. So until some hacker actually successfully retrieves anything the chip actually records (which I doubt is possible), I think this is a step ahead. I would definitely want this capability.

    What? You didn't like it when Windows forcefully turns off your computer without regard for any data you may have lost, only to create a paradox where every time you turn on your computer it starts installing updates but gets infinitely stuck at 70% progress all the while insisting that turning the computer off at THIS point is the worst thing you can do.

    Being that you can already stream 4k video in under 20Mbps per second (1000x slower than 5g). Maybe they should be concentrating more on the fact that people are paying $10 per gig of data per month.

    If all the passwords and users were the same then why use someone else's account when you have your OWN account? In a normal security situation, he would have the keys but not the actual password unless the passwords were stored in plain text, right? But he would require the password (not the key) to get into the Astro's network.

    They used their ex-GM and ex-employee's passwords from their network to access the Astro's network. But why was it so easy to get their passwords in the first place. Isn't this normally not possible?

    If your eating something where the primary ingredient is HFCS I doubt there is any way to make that product healthy. They would just replace HFCS with something slightly less bad. I'd say people generally eating too much food is a bigger problem than HFCS.

    Step 2 is don't use a credit card or any payment system tied to your name. Because, if so, you are likely being tracked. This is already happening by the way. Research the company Acxiom. Step 3 is don't go out in public. Because the logical progression is adding facial recognition to all the millions of cameras already pointed everywhere and AI that logs everything you do throughout the day. The truth is you don't have to do anything. They will come to you.

    Why is Acxiom never mention in privacy? They collect data on people independent of social media and independent of any consent or even knowledge they are being tracked. They have information on you even if you've never joined any social media site. They track your credit card purchases, everything you buy, and who knows what else, and they are selling the data to who knows who. They sound way more dangerous than FB and google combined.

    I can't believe people take these seriously. A polygraph is supposed to be a lie detector test, but all it does is tests vital signs. There is absolutely no way to prove if it's correct or not, so what is the point? If a polygraph was worth anything whatsoever, they wouldn't be worried about somebody being trained to beat it.

    I don't mind ads. But when it gets to the point where the ads start rendering the web unusable what else can you do? And when you're getting charged an excessive amount of money for data on your mobile plan you kinda don't want to be paying for stuff you don't even want to see.

    Google Glass (at it's current state) was never meant to blow up in popularity when it was released. It was to be the first, and to establish a brand. Augmented reality is the future. The race to lead the market has begun. To say they are "giving up on google glass" is like saying they are "giving up on augmented reality" which is just dumb.

    What? There's already cheap 2g phones you can buy that have those things. This thing is advertised for it's data. If you read the article it says nothing about being "made for countries that still use 2g". The whole emphasis is the price and affordability of the phone. This would indicate this is made for a market where there are more expensive higher quality options.
