My Bad. That's why I put my little disclaimer. I had a feeling XBox could do something like that, but I wasn't 100% sure.
Sure I could have double-checked, but that would ruin the/. ambience. But you are correct on both counts: I was wrong and i am a Nintendo fanboy! ~_^
I bought the last copy at Best Buy last night, and let me tell you, this game is a blast. I can't wait to link up with my friends and goto war on different screens.
As for innovation, I think 8 consoles on 8 TV where 8 different people can play is pretty new*.
*XBox live and all those internet games not included.
I have the classic collections for my GBA and this one looks like a keeper as well.
Maybe more game companies will see there is still some $$$ in their classic games, and release them again, for the cube, gba, PS2, etc.
I, for one, would love to see Rampage, N.A.R.C. and other arcade classics comeback.
I have a test, then. Just type in my name into google. Ok,/.ers are lazy, so just click here. What comes up first... My/. journal. But no one reads it. And no one comments in it. And no one links to it. Well, execpt me here on my yahoo page. How is the ranking so high?
I am paid hourly, so if I work from home(I never do) I will bill those hours. My co-workers were offered salary and they took it. They told me, "Rudy, just work hard and one day, you'll be salary like me."....
Now, I work M-F about 45-50 hours a week. They work nights and weekends. Way more that 50 hours per week. Probably near 70. I hear about them going home and logging into VPN and working from 18:00 till 23:00. Oh yea, with my over time, I make more than they do. Me, on salary...Oh Hell no!
What if some company with REALLY deep pockets started a "Hostile takeover?" Could this really happen, as I am not familiar with SEC regualations and such, but could this really happen? What if Microsoft or IBM held a large majority of Google....
Amen to that. The only reminder of pop ups is that little "boom" in the moz status bar. Other than that, I have not seen pop ups for quite some time. However, all my buddies here at work use IE. Hehehe. Some of them have spyware installed that pops up windows for no reason at all. Even when they aren't there. Hehehe.
Back on topic, I think 10,000,000 is a bit much. Have they even sold that much in those cameras? They have probably spent more in hiring those models.
The only time I've played this game is at Target and it was a blast. My wife was browsing for about half an hour or so, and I didnt notice at all. That game is insanely fun and insanely addictive!! I hope the the GCN version is just as crazy/fun.
I am not a data comm. expert, but I have always wondered if it were possible to make a 2nd internet out side of the current one. I guess a Fork, if you will. What would it take? A different set of cables and infrastructure? Could this new Internet have a EULA like:
By using Internet 1.2, you will not use unrequested pop ups on your site, blah blah blah..
Just a thought...
Thats what I'm afraid of. I a lot of Nintendo games, but the EA games are a lot of fun, too. I dont think the 3rd party support will go away, but I have a bad feeling about it. At least on the cube.
Esp. when you consider that Microsoft loses $$ on every console sold. Either way, I hope the new $99 price gives the gamecube some more US market share. I have never been an X Box fan, but if the XBox dropepd to $99, I may consider getting one.
that I've seen around. To me, it seems like its an emulator with a flashy front end and ZSNES in the back. You can pick games from a list an play against your buddies. I don't know most of the games, but it has SFII, SFII Turbo, and others. Judging from the graphics and the sound, its like an emulated SNES.
I used pico in college for all my script and programming. Now, I have PC-Pico installed, just because I like it that much!!
Back in the day, I remember Bank Street writer (?) an old Apple ][e program that teaches typing. Blue background, white letters. What more do you need??
NES:
Zelda - The entire game. I have the "open treasure" song as my new eMail notification sound.
BattleToads - I had an old stereo hooked up to the NES. When you paused the game, you got some loud bass. I would crank up the volume when the folks weren't home.
Tecmo Super Bowl - The injury song. It could ruin your season.
John Madden - The funky rock music with "Madden! Madden!" SNES:
Actraiser - I love the music in this game!!
Ghouls and Ghosts - Again, nice soundtrack when hooked up to the old stereo.
Rock n Roll Racing - To this day, If I hear any song from this sound track, I remember the eternal battles we had on this game. "Holy Toledo!!"
Super Mario Kart - The "Race is about to start" song.
There are a ton more, but these are the classics I remember
Um, yea.. I check this site to make sure no one from work is browsing and posting. Yea, thats it.... And I have to do it often, too. You know, so nothing slips through the cracks.
I agree. Gamecube gamers are not gonna buy crappy games. We know quality and that's what we expect. When I goto EB or Best Buy, I see racks and racks of PS2 and XBox games. But, if I actually owned either of those consoles, which games would I actually want. Of course, I'd want the GTA and Resident Evil games. I really don't need John Madden / NBA Live / NHL / Some sport 20XX since I can get them on the cube. There are a lot of other games that I see commercials, but never see after a few months. However, games like Smash Brothers are still up there and at $50! Heck, even Mario Kart 64 is still selling around $40 used!
Basically, when you put quality, the customer's will come.
Yea, Its been tempting to trade in the old GBA for an SP. EB will give me $30 off an SP. That brings the price from $99 to $69 but that brings my final SP cost to like $170, factoring the original cost of the GBA. I think I'd have better luck selling it to someone else for what EB charges.
Time will tell if the wife gives in. Perhaps she will have to get her own for me to get one.....
I put in the Work Order to my wife for a the GBA SP several times, but it has been rejected over and over again. Maybe I can pick up a used one somewhere.
Sightly OT, I'm planning on picking up the new Konami Arcade hits pretty soon. I do wish they included Contra and Life Force from the NES, too.
There are so many good games coming up for the game cube. I don't know where I should put my dollars for the upcoming games. I played this one game at best buy the other day. I think it was called Viewtiful Joe or something like that. It was a little odd, but pretty fun.
But, back to the Cel-shaded FPS, it looks really interesting and at least worth a rental. Once again, the gamecube version does not have online capablility, but that shouldnt surprise anyone, either. But, I definetaly think it's worth a rental.
From the headline, I thought this would be about kids running around like Solid Snake and Sam Fisher. You know, hiding behind things, throwing cans, knocking on walls.
But, I think video games do teach problem solving, and in some cases, team work.

Lets look at my beloved alma mater(Since its been in the news a lot)
Baylor University's Best 351 Colleges Rankings
#10 Students Dissatisfied with Financial Aid Administration Well, mine was quick and easy. No complaints there.
#11 Alternative Lifestyles Not an Alternative Demographics I have to agree here. Those folks started their own club, but its not an "official" club.
#14 Little Race/Class Interaction Demographics I dunno about this one. I mean, I know some people that only hang with their own people, but I, a middle class hispanic guy had a lot of different friends from all over the US. Black, White, Indain, Thai, Rich, not-so-Rich etc.
#6 Students Pray on a Regular Basis Demographics True, true. It's not an odd sight to see a whole table of people pray before eating lunch.
#12 Everyone Plays Intramural Sports Extracurriculars Yep. Everyone is the next Barry Bonds at Baylor. No to mention the wars at Raquetball courts. Plus, the Bear Trail. I'll leave it at that.;)
#8 Future Rotarians and Daughters of The American Revolution
Huh?
Well, there are some challenges, but overall I still love my school!
Sic Em Bears!!!
BSCS 2000
Let the obligitory "All your base" jokes begin.
My favorite. From ninja gaiden II.
Irene: What the?!
Ryu: What the!?
Robert TS: What the?!
Did everyone in the game have to say it??
The Nokia people saying how embarassing it is to have a Gameboy with you. Not the best buisness plan. I've said it before, I'll say it again:
1. Design a new gaming system and insult all of your potential customers.
2. ???
3. Profit!!!
I even combined step 1 and 2 for Nokia. What a guy!
If everything goes according to plan, I'll be around 55 when all this happens. Will I be too old to visit the moon, just to say I was there? Will I have to shell out 20,000,000 just to visit like Lance Bass? I hope not.
I hope to one day visit the moon, and maybe Mars, but I fear the $$ will keep me here, on the good olde Earth.
