    I loved xbox1's xbmc seeking using the front pads, now in windows.... its more difficult, you have no equivelant that i have seen.

    What they need at least is a logarithmic button advance, im not going to wait ages at 22x speed to go forward 1hr. Also I liked how the xbox's version remembered the locations.

    Granted I have to 'tweeak' the damn settings, or read a damn FM to see how its done, but the defaults have to be better.

    Now just add a Digital TV plugin to it and all other crap can be deleted.

    Be it with a Nuke, or slow release uranium in the air that might kill millions over years, or even GM food, that will reduce sterility in humans over generations, there by reducing populations by billions over decades (GM staff have voiced that desire)

    Its funny how there is now written law to say that you have to pay taxes (people asked judges to confirm this) and there has been no provided proof by the IRS.

    Yet, the threat of FBI and SWAT teams does nicely to co-erce people into paying. Even if those authorities know it to be false, they know that without taxes, their jobs are dead.

    Its just like North Korea, the only reason the populace wont revolt, is that most of it 'works' for the state, thus getting benefits such as education, and food.

    Ironically, none of the populations of USA's income taxes are used for ANY thing beneficial, ie... its all paid into interest rate debt payments to banks. Its the other indirect taxes and corporate taxes that fund the govts activities.

    Bottom line, income taxes arent needed. Its a falacy.

    But most people vote depending on how much tax cuts they get, or how much they get bribed for their vote. They dont care about any side issues to do with freedoms etc... or laws. Money is the only factor.

    Mix geeks and have the assassin be angelina or someone hot with a gun.

    Surely someone has invented some gloves with oil based veins that pump through your hands and back up under your arm or perhaps with the aid of a battery with solar charger. Is it also possibly to inject some natural fish based derivative anti freeze, or use some chemical based heater.

    Expensive perhaps, but better to be safe, then you can sell it to the next expedition.

    Try growing 1000 fish in a small fish tank, eventually it will get so crowded, that 90% die.

    I think that 2B bailout wasnt free cash, it was just no questions asked loans, which the banks wont do anymore. Hello banks, you can keep all the billions in cash, but its useless if you cannot spend it, or loan it.

    But no amount of free cash or 0% loans will save the economy. Its unsavable, it has to crash/reboot/reformat/reinstall a new system.

    if every MB had 8 dimm slots as standard, and XP supported 16gig ram, more people would upgrade nicely, then again if XP used memory nicely people would too.

    If MS were kinda enough to offer free XP64 for Xp32 people that too would spur demand. (Is it so hard for MS to let people download a free ISO?)

    Then again, if the ram companies didnt do illegal deals, they wouldnt have had those billion dollar lawsuits payouts.

    Sure 6 weeks dev time, but developers dont do testing, so hire your own $5/hr testers, testing time can equally take as long as or more than dev time.

    You can have 6 weeks dev + 10 weeks testing, or 15 weeks dev + 1 weeks testing, your choice?

    Or go do it all your self.

    I loved seeing amigas running macos with a rom, faster than a real mac with async IO patches to the ROM.

    Tho I saw corps using DTP on 286's too in 1989. Slow but worked, support came from one place.

    Better yet, why dont distros include the extracted firmware from the windows drivers? Who cares if its barely legit, just do it until Mr Broadcom complains, then tell him, "dude we just want ur shit hardware to work, whats ur problem, are you a communists against all forms of free markets?"

    PS2 is hardly a 2ghz monster, its a slow year 2000 POS, hell, my mobile phone runs at higher mhz.

    But yeah, if each system is identical, then its no issue using assembly, or even asm macros, or C based good code, rarely you really need asm as C it self is good enough, unless you can achieve 2x speed based on mem speed alone.

    But even then its only a few critical setup functions or calc functions that need to be in asm, most of the code doesnt need that level of optimizations.

    1. do it all in C
    2. profile it and find the slow bits.
    3. try asm versions and compare against C funcs.
    4. if gain is 2%, who gives a crap.

    Anyway, arent most 3d games identical, just different maps and reactions?

    Again, you do no ASM, you buy an engine such as renderware, and pay your 500k.

    Doesnt rockstar use renderwares engine?

    They did used to sell the engine for 250k, so if it runs on 4core intel or 3core xbox360, it shouldnt matter. Its like an OS.

    Maybe renderware is buggy, or rockstars usage of it is shite.

    Doesnt anyone do testing? Is it really that hard to find 200k to find 8 testers?

    I know most people would not agree, but MS goal was to create one language/apiset for the dekstop app / server code / client side browser interfaces. dotNet and Silverlight2 which uses .net in under 8meg does all this.

    If only sun made a fully featured, but small foot print, less than 4meg download JVM, it could have done it and be standard in all browsers, but no, now people had only viable choices because JS was the only choice.

    Just having ONE language across all three wide layers is a great ideal.

    there are always setup costs to both, so put that aside for now.

    The second you pump oil out of the ground, it can already be burned, and it has more energy per ounce than anything else in terms of cost. Sure to make 50m barrels of procesed petrol takes a lot of plants/infrustructure, but thats the case for alternatives too. It is the cheapest in terms of dollars now and in the amount of energy it took to drill it up/ship it/process it/ship it to your car.

    Again, do the maths if 50m cars had fuel cells, all your coal plants/nuke plants/dams could not make the power needed. A car needs more power than your ipod or laptop. If it requires twice your personal power usage, its not viable. No amount of fluro lights or low powered intel chips or OLED tvs could offset the power needed, let alone the time it takes to install those.

    As someone said, do ALL OF THE ABOVE, make fuel cells for inner city cars, make energy efficient motors for small towns, make cheap solar panels for EVERY HOUSE, and OFFICE window. Give everyone a wind generator (tell greeny/local govts to stick it up their ass if they think it makes their suburbs ugly - stupid yuppies)

    USA is not building nuke plants because not a single local govt will ALLOW it with permits, the idiots delay delay sue etc... it can drag out the planning 10-15 years, so they dont both.

    And USA companies do MAKE nuclear rectors for european countries. So they KNOW how to make and store the waste, which btw is MINIMAL. The waste is not 1000s of tonnes a years, the waste is tiny.

    And its only called waste because we only used 1% of the energy, and we wont re-process it. It still can be used after reprocessing so its not really waste, its stored so we can in the future reprocess it cleaner.
