  1. Cheyenne Autumn on Star Wars Episode 4 To Be Dubbed In Navajo · · Score: 1

I would like to get an English translation of the Navajo spoken in the movie Cheyenne Autumn by the Navajo actors. I understand that it is very funny. It is ribald and obscene as well as just plain funny. The Navajo apparently enjoy watching the movie because of that.

  2. The Lensman Series on Interviews: Ask J. Michael Straczynski What You Will · · Score: 2

I remember a few years back hearing that you were writing a screenplay for Edward Elmer Smith's the Lensman Series. What has become of that? Isn't writing for that really difficult without it being corny, old fashioned and a parody of itself?

Long before Jerry Pournelle and long before lasers, there was E. E. Smith, Phd. In his story "Spacehounds of IPC" that was serialized in Amazing Stories in 1931, a ship was powered by beamed power. I expect there were others even earlier.

Your probably right. I'm just frustrated that NASA isn't doing any of the cool stuff I thought they'd be doing 40 years after going to the moon. I was so excited when I watched the moon landing as a child. Now I feel just plain sad.

I really should have explained why I feel that the bosses make too much. It seems to me the risk taken by people making millions of dollars a year to invest other peoples money is insufficient. They might be fired but they still have millions of other peoples money. They should loose something for making bad investments. I think that is the real cause of the financial meltdown.

I've always been confused as to why it's so important whether climate change is anthropogenic. The point is that climate change is happening and it will cause major problems for many people on earth. If we can change that why not? Does it really matter if it's anthropogenic? I suppose the assumption is that unless it's anthropogenic then humans can't ameliorate the effects but I don't see that as necessary true.

I will miss the manned space program. It was one of the few things I took pride in. The way NASA was going though I'm not sure it had a future anyway. The program to replace the shuttle looked like it was going to take a lot longer than expected. It's not all NASA though. The past few administrations and Congress did not value the manned space program. Now I would rather NASA put the manned program on hold while they design a much better program.

Can't blame this one on Obama. The shuttle was to be retired with no replacement before Obama took office. He did gut the future of the space program though.

I've always wondered why it's important whether the climate change, assuming it is happening, is natural or otherwise. Whether it is natural or man made, the problems it would cause are the same. Man has always attempted to change the environment to suit himself. If we can affect climate change in a way that is better for man kind, why not? That might include reducing carbon, etc.
