    Just think if the genetic traits (gene sequence) which allow these microbes to leave in such extreme environments were somehow found and made dominate in the human genome. Also I wonder if the most common microphages in the world would be able to feed on these extremophiles.

    As far as genetic engineering I would really think that a practical application of this microbe would be a biological weapon of some sort. Imagine infected a population with this iron hungry organism and setting an anemic plague loose on the world.

    Since M$ has been involved with the creation of several VOD protocols (T.128, T.126, et cetra) one would think that they have point in applying for such a patent.

    WHY? Because WLAN as we know is meant to fail as do many technologies in America due to hype. There more reliable technologies around but no money to create the infrastructure needed to support the technology. Most companies are cashing in on the mature R&D of 2.4GHz and using those pre-built components to develop devices more rapidly to sell to the consumer just make sense.

    The big thing is if content providers will buy into this. Because if a Viacom, or Disney jumps on this boat we will see the greatest shift in the media market since cable. And isn't it funny that the TiVO folks just went bankrupt?

    Most people who purchase in business get their info through banner ads they work essentially. As I type this now I see a sourceFORGE banner and it kind of make me want to check on my many neglected projects there.
