Two legal secretaries in Sydney have been sacked after a flamewar over a ham sandwich
I know I'm showing my American here but the first thing I thought of was that commercial where the football player flat out tackles people in the office over TPS reports and whatnot... Reguardless, it was funnier when I thought people were being mowed down like quarterbacks.
To kill the gaps in the song go into the settings for amaroK and play around with what engine is running. (Settings - Configure amaroK). I believe I had to set mine on the XMMS engine before I got it to play with no gaps when changing songs.
While these games not run "natively" on a Linux box you can use wine in such a way that you wouldn't be able to tell a difference because of how evolved wine has become.
Try SuSE 9.3, it comes with wine and is great about putting icons in a folder under the menu and on the desktop if you want. Once its there all you do is click and it starts.
Oh, and about Half-Life 2... you might want to check this out:
Here
And thats all about using FREE software, you can pay transgaming to give you updates and software to run Windows (directX) games even easier, but I don't really like paying for games AND the ability to play them.
Until she got her iPod... so now we are buying a new PC
Although I'm not sure how well it would work on a PII, amaroK (media player for Linux) is great for using an iPod with. Also it's interface is top-notch. It got me to switch from XMMS. It has tons of "little" features that make it outstanding (album cover lookup via amazon, good searching for building a media catalog, scripts for things like alarms, catalog search feature, etc). I highly suggest anyone using Linux (KDE) to check this thing out. (Note: I do not work for these guys)
When I watch movies in HD on TNT it looks like they're just some sort of weird pan and scan mode. It looks much differnt (read: better) to watch a sports game in HD on ESPN HD or even to watch a movie on HDnet. The real debate should be why can't I watch CBS in HD. If you try calling their help line you will receive the most insane answers, none of which really answer the question.
Not 100% sure about this but I thought that if Company A bought Company B as long as Company A renamed Company B they didn't have to repay the debts. (Kentucky Fried Chicken to "KFC" when Pepsi Co. bought them). Of course this would lose all the of brand recognition of TiVo, unless it was just simply renamed to Apple TiVo, or again with the iTiVo. And I'm not an expert on these matters by any means, please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Since these EA stories started to break I just can't shake the image in my head of John Madden chained to a recording studio being made to work long hours into the night recording "Boom!" over and over again to get it just right.
That would be correct, I have done several studies on this, since I am a doctor and all. Definatly more brain activity occurs when you lie. For that groudbreaking information I ask a mere $25 from each and everyone of you via Paypal... since I am a doctor and all...

Review: Half-Life 2

· Score: 5, Informative
I do have a question though. As someone whom has *gasp* never played Half-Life, would I be lost trying to pick it up in it's second incarnation?
The story isn't too hard to follow, you're a scientist with a crowbar. You unleashed hell back at the Black Mesa (old working place). Defeated an army of headcrabs and other such monsters and also a gov. task force sent in to clean up. HL2 picks up *kind of* right after. Some time has passed and the earth is a little changed. You being the hero figure in HL2, must free the people from the "Combine" (not farming equipment). Go get the game, it should be enjoyable even to people who have never played HL1.
While I don't think the whole idea of having to register a game to be able to play it (cuts down piracy.. for a while, at least) is bad maybe they should make it something like Windows XP's activation? Whereas, you can play the game right away, but at some point you have to register or the game will stop playing. Sounds a lot like the model for shareware, except that you've already paid for the game, of course.
BTW, I was playing within 20 mins of the release. Sucks to be the people who have to wait forever.

Common sense? This IS Florida we're talking about, a place where the words common and sense don't exactly go hand-in-hand, or for that matter, even stand up on their own individual right. Maybe they should have a vote on the issue. Ah hem. Just kidding FL residents! I love oranges.
At the Regal Cinemas in Opry Mills (Yes, Nashville, TN) they have been putting 35mm films on for some time (starting with Gladiator). They usually put the newest and most hyped movie on the screen, but they also improve the quality every time. Other movies I've seen on there include Castaway, Jurassic Park III, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman (which was so large that to read the newspapers that spun up you had to actually move your entire head from left to right), and most recently MIB II. I can't really complain of lack of quality, it always seems almost as clear as a regular screen theatire. Whenever they explain the technology behind blowing the film up they always attribute it to the use of special lenses.

Yeah, I work for a major retailer and we just pulled it from the shelves on Thursday. Sending all copies back to MSFT I believe.

Is this the same process that Criterion uses?
All of their restored movies look top notch.

So.... Does someone have a torrent link for this? Now all we need is printable beer and we're all set.

I certainly hope common sense wins the day.

I'm glad they didn't think of this at my school, I would have never made it out of there with my sanity if I didn't have Heros III to play.
Hey, it's also the Two-Year Anniversary of when I started paying for my iPod, which continues to this day.
The Sega Master System (8-bit, before Genesis) had 3d-glasses that worked like this. Here (segamastersystem.com) for pictures of it.
The effect works great, i spent many hours playing Zaxxon 3d, state of the art for early 90's.
"Back to your Double Plus Good Edumacation School with you." Watch out, I have a degree from there. Go Bobcats.
"american assholes find pleasure in insulting other people?" b/c we're assholes? Right, now go brush your teeth.
