I know a lot of people are all big on plug-in electric cars, but what do those of us not fortunate enough to have integral garages with outlets in them? I don't know what the percentages are, but I'm assuming there's a lot of average Joe's like me who, even if we own our own homes, have to park on the street wherever we can find parking. Are they going to put outlets in the sidewalks for me?
Not to mention fans of jambands like the Dead, Tea Leaf Green, Umphrey's McGee, etc, who have thousands of hours of free, live, legal material online. archive.org can fill an iPod as soon as one buys it for free.
..I had the Apple "Genius" grab a magnet from the back room and, in front of me, wipe it all over the HD. He was very cool about it, understood perfectly, and was more than happy to do it for me.
Not necessarily true, unfortunately. Can you honestly say they would have been able to sell that many albums online without the exposure brought to them previously by their former record company who got them airtime, video time, international attention, etc.?
New bands won't be able to pull this off NEARLY as easily.
...sometimes I get real pissed off about this stuff. But other times I just say "fuck it!" I mean really, what do I care really about if some government peon wants to jot down in the big brother database that I'm reading Muscle & Fitness on my flight? I mean compared to the C4 bomb hidden in my MacBook, it's really of little consequence.;)
[Note to all federal eavesdroppers: THE ABOVE IS A JOKE! CHILL OUT! I'VE NEVER EVEN BEEN ON AN AIRPLANE BEFORE!]
There's a lot of crap "pop" music in every generation. That doesn't mean today's music is any "less" than before. In fact, we have MANY great quality artists around, even if not on the radio or MTV2.
Some for instances from my personal tastes: Umphrey's McGee, Black Crowes, Perpetual Groove, Tea Leaf Green, Disco Biscuits, American Minor, AOD, STS9, Soldiers of Jah Army, etc.
There's tons of great stuff today, and with the internet and places like archive.org, there's more access to it than ever.
Factor in unlimited free long distance (which is also part of my plan) and you're gold. I still have a land line, for DSL and all, but I was able to drop my long distance provider (AT&T).
Seriously, I have a MacBook, which I love. It's great to be able to be mobile with my computing. It's small, light, powerful...
But I'm a web developer. I spend hours on it every day. The only way this can stay ergonomically practical is by using an adapter to use an external monitor and using a USB mouse. Otherwise, my neck and wrist will start screaming at me.
A device even smaller than my laptop would be good for using a few minutes at a time, to check email, or look up something on the web. Little more. It's impractical to think it can be a replacement for a desktop or even a laptop.
Back in the 60's, British and US releases had different songs on them.
British had "With the Beatles" while an album with slightly different tracks called "Meet the Beatles" came out in the US.
The British version of "Are You Experienced?" by Hendrix had additional songs, such as "Red House" which the record company felt would go over better in Britain than the US, even though it was a straight blues track and blues was born in the US. *shrugs*
So while in the age of the internet, this seems silly, it's nothing new.
Any story about Saddam's execution on/. would most likely just be people debating the quality (or lack there of) of the knot used on the rope he hung from. (Looked pretty mean!)
What's worked surprisingly well for me is simple arithmetic. Adding a random math problem such as 2 + 5 = [ ] or 3 + 4 = [ ] has DRAMATICALLY decreased the amount of form spam two of my websites have received.

I don't know about the oil thing, but Valentino is quite open about his steroid abuse, used to get the "biggest arms in the world".
No more steroids!
This is NOT new! My number got f*cked back in December of last year:

This will go over about as well as the McKenzie Brothers' attempt to get free beer from the liquor store. :)

Stephen Hawking will now take over the world!
Beware those of you who dared park in handicap spaces!

I already get unlimited wireless in Pittsburgh for $44/month from Cricket.

Plenty of places where people can post anonymously. Lots of Anonymous Cowards here. :)
Plenty of public machines and IP addresses where you can post to anonymous message boards and editable pages like http://subuse.net/ and http://subuse.net/level2

My thumb hurts. My eyes burn. My brain aches.
Looks like men now must make a choice. Texting or masturbation. No man will be able to coordinate both with keypads like this.

Well share it, post it to ForumBan (or if it's long, just email it to me and I'll append it).
It could be a lot more helpful to people if we share these ban lists.
http://subuse.net/ does not require any registration and therefore was the victim of botnet attacks, until a two pronged approach was taken:
1) ForumBan was created and subscribed to: http://www.sugapablo.com/forumban/index.php
2) Math was added to all pages to post. Simple arithmetic.
These two things cut spam bu 90+%.
Hopefully. :)
The CD will not be dead, so long as people still wish to hear a higher quality than they can get from compressed audio.
Or until record companies stop producing them.
