    ...this wasn't meant to be a flamebait.... I meant what i said, eventually computers will evolve to not need a commandline.... it happens...people don't read books anymore, because there are movies....

    for those who haven't read the article he review, rxvt, gnome terminal, and konsole, and links to aterm, 9term, and some other thing, really not to awesome...but it is a dying aspect of linux..using the command line.

    not to be offtopic, but i don't get it, why is gentoo considered such a great operating system for people who want to learn when those people can't really compile for themselves? Real users should just compile this now, and not complain or ask for some package

    Ruby came in second, now lets say i put Ruby on my resume....how much respect will that get? while it was useful to rank the scripts to the author for whatever purpose(prove his point). It is still useless because there is a lack of implentation of 90% of these scripting languages...ergo this changes nothing..my resume is still filled with useless knowledge which won't help me win on jeopardy

    sony just didn't see the big picture, eventually the only PC people will have is a hand-held one, they could've made a killing if they just added a tv-out to their clie models, along with the ability to plug into regular size keyboards/mice, this way for the casual user, one who only reads emails, and checks news online, does reports in word, they could've provided a low-cost desktop alternative. b

    i know im going to hit some strings with this but, hasnt anyone else noticed how the apple monopoly gets worse and worse? it may use *Bsd as its source but other than that its not friendly, their license sux, they force you to buy their products, force their operating system, now their web browser, their office applications..i mean if microsoft was doing this there would be millions of people bitching and moaning that bill gates is an evil whore. thats just my opinion and im never wrong...

    i think the poll reflects the views of people who are trying to be to cool by trying to be really nerdy with their choises(yes i know i like the s rather than the c". how does KDE win? how does VIM win? i mean sure on my pure commandline boxes i use VIM but its not my favorite, even on pure command line you can run emacs, also i find gnome is far more productive than KDE, since the gdk enviorment, is most used by developers(by most i mean me) the only thing it lacks is that "busy" cursor so im done now. btw im gettng linux journal now and im gonna vote next year, and you should also!

    we should actually forget mars for now develop a space station on the moon use that for our launches cuz the gravity is less we'll need less power aka less money to launch from there and it'll give us a bigger place to perform experiments*the moon that is* forget these orbiting space stations they are stupid the moon owns.
