It doesn't even trick the os. Do a "Get Info" on it and it says
Kind: Application.
A good trick. All they did was put a mp3 icon on the app and add ".mp3" to the filename, and then stuck some id3 tag in it. This is the work of a child.
My math was off; The total price of the eMac is approx. $1500 USD.

Is the eMac the only one?

Upgrade Your eMac

The main upgrade I'm concerned about is the processor; 800 mhz to 1.33 ghz is a huge leap! Could this be done as easily on other models? I have a 1ghz TiBook (not that I'm willing to experiment on it) but it would be interesting to see what it's "full potential is." But, overall, this upgrade is a sweet way to get a over 1.3 ghz machine for around 1100 USD. That's less than a dollar a mhz.
After the computer beats me at chess i usually taunt it with my "self-awareness."
Gosh... do I really do that? I'm pathetic. Well, at least I know I am, stupid computer...
There's the strong and weak points of professional gaming. Obviously, huge stadiums are not needed. Equipment is as good as the programmer. The laws of physics don't apply.
But who would rather watch than play? When all you need is a computer, why use the same computer to be a spectator?
Apple has no way to shut them down because they don't have to go through apple retailers for the processors. Who doesn't like the cube? This is very smart business. Apple won't be very happy about this.
Enough with the privacy issues, I'm wondering how practical videotaping the enitre cabin of an airplane would be. Video with a resolution high enough to make out what every passenger is reading would be huge. And how often would the storage media be changed? Would the stewards have to replace a hdd every time the plane landed?
Not the best marketing scheme-
"Lindows. The Wal-Mart operating system."
This isn't the future of Linux - programmers bending over backwards for Microsoft in their barely open-source operating system. It won't last.
Case modders have groupies? Like, female groupies? Man, I've seen some far out stuff on /. but this is just too much.
It's not a bundle.

Fact: Windows 98 is dying
It's a shame, yes. But I hear that Windows 2000 is coming out next year, so at least we'll have something else to use.
That's inSANE!!!
*ducks*
There was another Starwars cartoon featuring ewoks, i think.
Kazaa had a pretty decent system. It's a shame it had to go.
Didn't Napster try this? It must be why they're still so popular ; )

Screw 10.2.8, Panther has been declared Gold Master!!!
From Apple Insider
Dammit, now PETA is going to come after my new big screen.
Anyone, or Microsoft? If it was Linux Live, would you mind as much?
How could they NOT give it away for free?

Doesn't GPS only have a line of sight connection? What happens if the electronic tag is covered?
"You're stepping on my rollers!!!" =sb=
if they don't want to worry about world shrinkage, just avoid world swimming.

There's not an infinite amount of used G4 cubes to upgrade. They can only do so many.
