My audigy2zs plays dvd-a quite nicely!!! (and it sounds good on even shittah speakers!) Theres a few other cards that do as well (some have better audio quality than the sound blaster as well so i hear)! SACD's you might be right I do not know anything about sacd's:)
And theres some DVD-A's out but most of it is just live concert stuff remixed up to make it feel liek your sitting in the front row... none of the punk music I listen to is out on dvd-a:(...

now for a little redundant ranting...Tapes, cd's, minidiscs, vinyl albums... its all THE SAME thing.. a little different in quality or size or portability... But very similar to each other.
And on that note why dont they at the very, very least/whines make all those albums that have been recording in very high quality analog or digital available as 192kbps/24bit surround sound dvd-a stuff? There's like no dvd-a's out there. If alkaline trio's record label put out re-releases of their best stuff on really high quality dvd-audio discs I'd be in my car right now to buy them... Give me something cool to buy!!! Something I can't just download for free!
Has there ever been a time when you were listening to something and you were like wow, I wish I could turn the other instruments off and just listen to the piano here, or just listen to the singing there, or just listen to the background vocals there... Why dont they make some dvd-a discs that let you do that? That'd be *COOL*!!!
Or make it so that when you buy a disc it includes a code that lets you go to the web and...guarantees that since your a buyer of this disc the band will let you ask them a couple questions which they promise to respond to.. Or they will grab their digital camera, take a pic *just for you* and send it. I'd pay a few extra dollars on top of a cd's usual cost for that, and I think any big fan of a band would too...
Even better would be that you dont *hafta* pay, but if you go to their web site and enter the code, you get the ability to pay the band a few dollars directly, for that one time specialty (that way the band gets the money instead of it being filtered through retailer, distributor, label, etc).. Let it be said I have a fast a64 with a lot of fast ram and serial ata hdd, and open office still loads pretty friggin slowly. Yet it does load fast in yoper (the distro i've been using since i discovered it last week lol, before i always used debian)...
So yeah, it's pretty sad when stuff loads that slowly, but its not yoper being sad, its the slowness of open office being sad.... which is why if ya got a slow (less than 1ghz) machine I say use abiword WHENEVER POSSIBLE lol it hauls ass...
Also keep in mind someone's 1.8ghz p4 is not that fast of a machine... It's probably one of those cheap black and grey dells or something with a 5400rpm 512k cache slowwww ass hdds...

btw, yes, this is being typed from yoper right now, been using it for a few days, its awesome. Yoper for desktops, debian for servers, thats my story and i'm stickin' to it.
I can confirm this... PearPC always made me wonder why people AREN'T making mac clones right now!!! It's definately possible... Obviously i doubt you could get a special deal on os X or sell it advertising it that way, but nothing against you selling a ppc box with a retail copy of OS-X bundled with it...
It wont cost you anything (or $50) if someone steals your cc and uses it to buy shit.. your best protection is to keep up to date on your banks site with what you have and haven't boughten, and investigate and report anything you didn't do immediately.. you wont be liable.

I got the cheap 7.1 creative labs speakers ($99 or so!!!) from newegg. I wasn't expecting much. But my sound card has true dvd-a support... I put in a dvd-a disc and was BLOWN AWAY by how amazing it sounded.
It's like the difference between a good but not perfect cassete tape and a cd. Sure i'm sure if you had the perfect cassete and stereo it might be hard to tell the difference but get real. Its very noticeable... DVD-A IS GOOD.. (i've never heard a sacd i dont have the stuff to play one)...

Here's what you do: Go down to safeway or fred meyers, and buy a bottle of "robitussion cough gels" or "dexalone" or "robitussion maximum strength cough". READ THE INGREDIENTS LIST. Make SURE SURE SURE the only active ingredient is dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Make absolutely sure:). It doesn't matter if you get pills or syrup though. Just get one bottle to start with, this will be 300mg (pills) or 354mg (syrup) total. On your way to the checkout, grab a frappucino. Pay, go to your car, drive home. Play some music, open the bottle, open the frap. PLUG YOUR NOSE, CHUG THE SYRUP (or just take the pills 4-5 at a time) then rinse your mouth with the frapp and swallow:). Then eat a small peice of bread and chill for a while. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SMOKE WEED WITH DXM if its your first (or 10th for that matter) time doing dxm... Absolutely do NOT DO STIMULANTS (except caffiene). This includes ephedrine, ritalin, any form of speed, extacy, etc. Have a couple drinks of alcohol (drink 'em if you've got them!) This makes it alot smoother.
If you've got percocet, vicodin, or codeine pills, or syrup, laying around (any opiate, any opiate even tramadol!) TAKE THEM. It will be the most wonderful feeling you've had your entire life, BAR NONE-better than if you've ever done extacy, by far, no comparison.
Its hard to explain what DXM is like, but if you like this low/moderate dose, then move up to two or three bottles to try (just once or twice to experience it).
DXM is the greatest gateway to psychedelics ever (even though yes, I know it's not technically a psychedelic)... When your ready to try shrooms, etc, take your shrooms with a small dose of dxm, take your lsd with a small dose of dxm, (but avoid marijuana).. also great to mix, like i said, with alcohol, great with nitrous, and omgwonderful with opiates...
I can't stress enough how much better almost every single drug is with dxm!!! It will increase the visuals from shrooms without decreasing the insight or screwing up motor functions. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SMOKE WEED WITH DXM if its your first (or 10th for that matter) time doing dxm... Absolutely do NOT DO STIMULANTS (except caffiene). This includes ephedrine, ritalin, any form of speed, extacy, etc. Have a couple drinks of alcohol (drink 'em if you've got them!) This makes it alot smoother.
I have seen others in this thread talking about ketamine, dxm is *very* similar to ketamine. It is recognizably similar to nitrous oxide as well. (They are all in the same family of drugs, disassociative analgesics).
Here's what you do: Go down to safeway or fred meyers, and buy a bottle of "robitussion cough gels" or "dexalone" or "robitussion maximum strength cough". READ THE INGREDIENTS LIST. Make SURE SURE SURE the only active ingredient is dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Make absolutely sure
If you've got percocet, vicodin, or codeine pills, or syrup, laying around (any opiate, any opiate even tramadol!) TAKE THEM. It will be the most wonderful feeling you've had your entire life, BAR NONE-better than if you've ever done extacy, by far, no comparison.
Its hard to explain what DXM is like, but if you like this low/moderate dose, then move up to two or three bottles to try (just once or twice to experience it).
DXM is the greatest gateway to psychedelics ever (even though yes, I know it's not technically a psychedelic)... When your ready to try shrooms, etc, take your shrooms with a small dose of dxm, take your lsd with a small dose of dxm, (but avoid marijuana).. also great to mix, like i said, with alcohol, great with nitrous, and omgwonderful with opiates...
I can't stress enough how much better almost every single drug is with dxm!!! It will increase the visuals from shrooms without decreasing the insight or screwing up motor functions. Decreases any anger you might get from alcohol. Removes tolerance you get from opiates. Makes weed about 5 times stronger (not for the faint of heart, I don't like weed and i hate this mix even more, it's far far too strong, even die hard weed people dont like it...it has a verrry strange effect when mixed with weed, literally makin it 5 times stronger at least)...

That's what excites me. Look at how cheap and safe air travel is now. Wright brother's flight was in 1903, right? In less than 20 years you had airplanes EVERYWHERE. In less than 40 years there were jets. (July '42 for the first real jet fighter, yes yes I know there were actually jet engines in the 30's but come on).
Today, 100 years later, I can buy an airplane ticket for a couple day's worth of barely-better-than minimum wage barely-part-time college work.

So its not okay to sleep with your wife's sister if it will vex your wife. (yeah i know it says beside the other, as well, so you could take it even further but i'm not gonna). That's your wife's SISTER. What if your not married? If it's okay to sleep with your wife's sister if it doesnt' vex your wife, then if you aren't married, well, there'd be no one to vex would there be? And definately there'd be no one to vex if it was A PICTURE OR MOVIE. The bible doesn't say you can't look at naked women and get aroused by it. Nowhere does it say that. It doesn't even imply it. What it does say is you should be loyal to your wife and not try to make her jealous. (and that you shouldn't sleep with relatives lol) The fact that all these laws (against sleeping with your FRIGGIN RELATIVES!) had to be spelled out to the jews of old leads me to believe that they were PRETTY FUCKIN' HORNY PEOPLE! And they prolly slept around, took multiple "wives" and did other crazy sexual stuff all the time. Especially compared to our current society. Lets put it this way: You walk into a room of people...There's 20 people there. God says "dont have sexual relations with those 6 over there, that would be a sin." What the hell does that imply? Is it not obvious? What in the world would a "reasonable person" take that to mean? Sure seems like god didn't ban you from multiple sexual partners or sex before marriage or whatever, he just didn't want you to disgrace your family, upset your wife, or whatever. So based on what I can see in the bible, vexing your wife by looking at porno would not be good in the eyes of god. She's your wife, you gotta treat each other good. If your wife and you wanted to watch a porn tape together I dont think god would have an issue with that! If your not married, you have no one to "vex", but yet you've got those urges, I really just can't see god up there saying "damnit extra, stop sinning for looking at that jpeg." Uhmm...no.
