I doubt it, Madden already included all the classic teams, so I am sure that wouldn't have been over looked. I think your more likely to see Drew Gust, LaDainian Thomson, and Antonio Fence playing for the San Deigo Lightning.
Where did all the street racers in San Diego go? I remember in 1999 and 2000 every friday and saturday night ~2000 cars would drive around Miramar and Mira Mesa. For the last 2 years I haven't seen them around. I did move to pb 2 years ago, so maybe that is why I have not seen them. Are they still around or have they finally been stopped? I have been to racelegal a few times, but there doesn't seem to be half of the people that used to come out.
How does "a Mac port" mean they are more then halfway there? As long as you don't program the game using DX, how is a Mac -> Linux port any easier then a Windows -> Linux for a video game? I am not trying to be an ass, I just want to know. I have made plenty of programs for Windows, Mac and Linux and it is either just as easy to go from Windows to Linux as it to go from Mac to Linux because I used a common API (like QT) or it just as hard to go from Windows to Linux as it is Mac to Linux because I used a native API.
Well, if you are selling the fantastic recreations of Micky Mouse, Pluto, and Donald Duck for a profit then they probably do have the right to sue you for copyright infringement.
I would consider action figures and cloth maps tossware. What are most people going to do with action figures and cloth maps? Most people don't get so into a game where they want action figures and cloth maps hanging around the house. I like the consol model, small neat packaging. I would rather see the money spent designing and making that crap used to either make a better game or pay the game designers more.
"Folks, the desktop has been created and is very useful as it is"
Eh? With an attitude like that, we would all still be using the same desktop as Mac OS 1.0 (or something else that predates that) Sure for the most part the desktop has been refined to be a useful replacement for the command line, but I still think there are lots of improvements to be made. 10 years from now the desktop will be radically different (if it even still exists) and you will wonder how you got any work done on the current generation of desktops.
"Let's innovate some apps that can actually threaten the standing of MSFT and friends"
Why should open source exist just to topple the Microsoft empire? Why can't it just stand on its own merits? I think open source would be better of not worrying about Microsoft or anyone else for that matter and just concentrate on making good programs.
"of retooling themes and icons on a daily basis"
There are some people who want to contribute to open source that are not programmers. If people who are graphic designers that want to contribute, more power to them, I think it strengthens the open source community if more diverse groups of people can have a say in development.
"Anything else deserves to be stopped out of existence"
The ironic part of it is that "Rewarding murders, rapists, and child molesters" is big business, which employs a lot of people (contractors to build the prisons and people to staff them) so it is probably a net benefit economically to the taxpayers that fund the prison operations.
15k is like the 3 month salary of 1 programmer. I doubt 1 programmer can turn the Gimp into somthing usable in 3 months. Adobe has spent 15 years and millions of dollars to get photoshop where it is today, a company would have to pay more then a few k to get any program to the level of photoshop.
"What would be needed in large shops is the ability to have it hosted internal"
Well in the story it says:
"The company plans to charge customers $2 per user per month for access to the software, plus the cost of server software"
So I am assuming that the reason why you need to buy the server software is because you are hosting it yourself. Besides, I doubt very many companies would feel safe just sending out all there private information to IBM just so they can have a cheap word processor.
"clear skies ahead, and nothing but open road as far as we could see -- to looking disastrous in the span of about six months total. During that time I also made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia from San Diego."
I think this was part of his problem. I live in San Diego and I was just outside, the skies are clear and I didn't see any traffic on the roads. I don't know how the weather/traffic is in Atlanta but it must be worst.
I think they are talking about the hardware of the phone not the gaming hardware:
"you look in the bottom left of the display you will see "CAMERA", so we're gonna take a stab in the dark here and guess that Nokia have upped the specs on N-Gage 2"
Meaning they added a camera so the ngage 2 will have more features.
Should it be illegal to extract Fairplay AACs generated from my own CDs? I might want to do that one day if I decide something else meets my fancy more than itunes does.
There is only DRM in songs bought off of iTMS. Songs ripped in iTunes are just plain old vanilla AAC files.
The short answer is yes, your SOL, you agreed to those terms when you signed up and purchased music. You could have bought and paid more for a CD but choose not to.
Technically it is not your data, you did not write it, create it or anything, you just payed for the ability to listen to it. I doubt iTMS is selling the legal copyrights to songs for only $.99 a piece.

Just pointing out the fact that they dropped the "or at a nominal fee" part. I didn't think I needed to state that.
It doesn't say anything about a fee here
I've used it and google has not added anything to the emails yet.
This isn't new, PG2 has been charging for new content for a while now.
The worst part is I got the SNL reference.

"My, what an odd comparison. The operating system used by most of the world, and a website used by some."
I bet OSDN, who is losing money every time someone gets a 503, aggrees with the grandparent.
I just post 10 more invites to my journal, that is 46 for this week.... get them while they are still good
Well, it was a good thing I gave the link, because that was the next question in the FAQ :)
From the FireFox FAQ:
What's happening with the Firefox development?
Firefox will be used as the default browser in Mozilla. The current Mozilla suite will be replaced by stand-alone applications.

Oh boy...

Your joking, right?
