The customer should be allowed to buy any mobile device they want and then go to a service provider to get a connection. So the customer can get the best choice for them. The phone they want + the service they want.

I have BBC channels in my TV subscription and they talk about their iPlayer as a great service to watch an episode that you might have missed. Great! Oops, UK only because of license restrictions. That money could have gone to the creators but they can't seem to find a way to get it to me. I would pay 50c per streaming episode or watch a few commercials. They need to realize that the world is now global for the consumers too. Stop with the artificial borders, put it online for a cheap and a lot of people will pay for it. They might even buy the DVD set. Some people will still pirate it but they wouldn't pay for it anyway so no lost sale but the restrictions you have now are stopping people who are willing to pay. Take a look at eMusic, I'm a subscriber for 1,5 years now 90 songs for 22 euro and I have the feeling that more of that money goes to the artist then if I would buy the CD.
I think the idea is great and thinking about buying one as a xmas present for a 5 year old kid. Is this something for a child that age? What about pricing? $399 or â 312. I thought it would be a $100 dollar laptop, so I'm buying 4 (1 for me, 3 for OLPC)?

In order to actually develop programs for Macs, you have to pay them quite a bit of money just to get the basic dev tools, and even more in order to make higher end programs. Windows and Linux on the other hand dont have this problem.
Apple provides xcode, dashcode, Quartz composer, SDK's, and documentation all on the install CD.
If I want to start developing it will cost me nothing.
Sure there is a developer program that you have to pay for and that will give you some extras and you have to pay for the iPhone SDK.

Keyboard shortcuts and terminology are completely different from every other program out there. I mean, F5 is the standard refresh key in Windows and every other program I've used... but in Notes, F5 is the "lock interface" key. F9 refreshes. And selecting multiple items with control or shift doesn't work; you need to use the little check column. WTF, IBM?
Fixed in version 8. You can now select documents using CTRL and shift keys. Not sure about the refresh, cause I never use that function because it refreshes automatically when I get new mail.
Instead of all the options being in one place, different options and configuration screens are accessed through completely different menus, with no logic as to which option is available in which menu. WTF, IBM?

The downside is that you get a new window with so many subsections, that have their own subsections and then some more that you easily get lost or have a hard time finding that particular option. Progress has been made in this area but it is still too complex. Having said that, I'm not sure how they can do this better as the amount of options (mail, client, etc, etc) are just too much for 1 program.
Notes insists on putting that stupid email header with a picture and scroll boxes on every fracking email. I guess it's designed to look like stationery, or like a formal memo. But that fancy header takes 800 bytes. And when you replicate that over a chain of emails with quoted history, it starts taking up a good bit of space. WTF, IBM?
There is no header picture in Notes e-mail. There is a field in notes that points to an image in your mail file. It is something in the form of "header_picture=5". The notes client then locates the image corresponding with this number 5 and displays an image. The header image works only on an internal lotus network and external e-mail will not have an extra jpeg attached to dispay the header. This has been the case since I used notes (version 4)
There's no way to just delete the attachment on emails in your inbox, so they sit there cluttering up space. I know you can download the attachment, but you can't save the email in with the rest of them. I want to be able to delete the attachment and keep the email in my inbox. And please delete the attachment automatically with replies... I'm tired of seeing the 3mb file I emailed out turning up in every one of the seven replies. Is that too much to ask?

I use a program that removes the attachment from the e-mail and stores it in a the same folder structure on my HD as I have my folder structure in my mail box.

If they still sell Linux to enterprise users then they have to do the testing anyway. So there is no loss to also sell to home users.
