I read an article about Trent Reznor co-producing the album of Saul Williams.
I'm a big NIN fan but never heard of Saul Williams, still I bought the album without thinking. Just like I did for Radiohead, although I know their music.
    And Saul Williams is great!
Best thing is, free downloads are 192 kbps. But if you pay 5$ you can choose between 192, 320 or flag!

So people if you like NIN and hip-hop download Saul Williams!
I really hope this is going to be a new way of doing music business.

I guess the point that you're trying to get across is that we shouldn't have to have upgrades to get around bugs that are introduced by the crappy DRM to begin with, and I wholeheartedly agree with that. However, for people who already own players that won't play their legitimately purchased discs, they really should be able to ave the most convenient options for getting their players up and running. Especially since these players are still pretty expensive. They should just return the player and the movie demand a full refund or a brand new player.
That is the only way to let companies that we don't want DRM, that it doesn't work and that DRM cost them more money.

    1) The link I posted is who theorized the security aspect of that feature. I'd simply found it inexplicable. 2) The security claim is actually a vaguely reasonable justification for that behavior. "I still know whether I've typed it correctly before I hit enter" is an absurd "solution" to a non-problem and is completely at odds with any other interface any user is accustomed to. 3) Looking deep into the Notes documentation, I see that the annoying random bullets in the password field are designed to thwart shoulder surfing, exactly as I said. The even more annoying blinking of the hieroglyphics is irrelevant to the "knowing whether your password is correct without having to hit 'Enter'" idiocy. As others have mentioned already that link is old but anyway
The hieroglyphs (or a set of keys in later versions) is indeed a good indication to know if you entered the correct password. But is is not to make it easy for you the user but it is there to make it harder for the person who tries to get your password by creating a fake password prompt.
If you get a password prompt "Please enter your Lotus Notes password" and you don't see the hieroglyphs, or they don't change when you type in your password. You know something is wrong.

And I stand corrected, it is around 45% of all windows using geeks, give me a break it is weekend. Then again, most geeks are the "helpdesk" of the family and often provide them with a nice program or OS to do something they want (Office, Photoshop).
