    actually if you cancel your account and put "real names on forums" as the reason in the handily provided "reason for quitting" box they pay attention. Despite the idiocy of the idea in general they are pretty good at trying to do what their customer base wants, hence the canceling of the policy.

    while it probably wouldn't work for you a whitelist would work fine for me, i don't think i've ever gotten a call that wasn't telemarketers or someone i directly know. heh, even a whitelist that contained the entire phonebook would probably work, so no configuration required

    To be honest i think they're sick of maintaining the forums, so instead of shutting them down they'll make it so noone will want to troll and half the current posters will stop posting

    there's plenty of cases of near unique names, i have 2 quite common names but i'm the only instance of me that comes up in google searches

    to be honest i'm happy to see this whole thing where they're competing without any crutches or advantages, i have nothing against microsoft except their abusing those things, if they make a better browser based on it's own merits then more power to them, about time. if they win then decide it's time to extend, then fuck them, they're gonna get some other company like mozilla screw them over again and it's gonna be a long road back, just like the last time.

    if sony own the name lemmings (that's *if*) then they very likely own the copyright original EGA graphics. sony have shut down every lemmings clone that has used the original files or name and left alone every clone that has not. they also released new lemmings games on psp recently so it's not abandonware, How exactly are sony the bad guys here?

    please, 10-11 years ago linux people were a completely different breed, most people installed linux back then and said wtf can i do with this now i've spent 5 hrs figuring out how the hell to get this actually running. the actual users were pretty freaking hard core, nowadays 95% (80% if i'm being generous) of linux users would probably get totally lost recompiling a kernel.

    it was between 15% and 20% of their total sales, so if they lost money on it they probably lost money on the whole thing.
