You sir do not understand computers. The availability of extra features should have no performance impact on the use of old features. Furthermore, refinement of old features should make them run faster. And if it is not so, then you have an architectural problem.

That sounds good but its just not true. I run on encrypted root and home and there is no noticeable performance difference, even in big file copies. Network encryption is very very little work for the cpu.
The disguise cloak will probably be more expensive than a rocket launcher. :)
Also, since the only reasonable fix is a system reinstall, the virus is already nudging them in the right direction!
