Would google/picasa meet your needs? I haven't use it myself, but they're the biggest alternative i could think of.
I suppose there's also deviantart and photobucket, but I've no idea if they're any good.
I think I'm going to have to side with Steve (from "Steve, Don't Eat It!") and stay as far away from this "devil poop" as I can.

Just letting you know that Opera's set of search terms can be updated. For example I could right click on the search edit box at the bottom of this page and choose "Create search". Now I'm able to select random text and send it through to the slashdot search.
Nope, it's a one way device. The police enter the phrase and this thing speaks it in whatever language it's set to. There are slightly more details in a wired article here.
...and a subpar web browser. Don't get me wrong. I like the Curve a lot, and in the last couple years I've had a Blackberry 7290, 8700 and right now I have an 8800. But the Blackberry web browser doesn't even hold a candle to the iPhone browser. At least give Apple credit where it is due. They have the first decent mobile web browser.
Have you tried Opera on a mobile? I've heard good things about it, but never tried it myself.
Looks like I spoke too soon. Google has just added search to Google Reader. Huzzah! Although it's giving me problems with 9.50... hmmm... back to 9.23 for now.
I don't really use bookmarks that much (even though with this I might start to). What I really want is can we please please PLEASE have RSS sync? Please? This is why I ended up using Google reader. Even though it doesn't have the ability to search my feeds... (why google?!? WHY!?!?)
Something like Pleo? I don't think it's quite what you want, but still could be interesting.
There's an article from Wired about Pleo and its creator here.
In many of the more relaxed corners of the Outer Eastern Rim of the Internet, Wikipedia has already supplanted the great Encyclopaedia Britannica as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for though it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least wildly inaccurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important respects.
First, it is slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words "anyone can edit" inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover.
I've mentioned this before, but it's appropriate so I'll link it again. It's the Zug credit card prank! Read this and never feel safe with your credit cards again.
Fair enough. I wrote something similar so I could use the media keys (play/pause, next track, etc) on my keyboard. Then iTunes started supporting media keys natively. Oh well.

Did you know you can listen to JJJ over the internet? Just head on down to http://www.triplej.net.au/listen/default.htm.

Could it be they asked your parents, or someone who knew where you were?
I'm just waiting for 9.50 to finally come out of beta...
Who said anything about adware? I think they're referring to the ancient past when Opera was free, but had an ad panel up the top.

You could try this blog post in Wired. But I don't know that it's much better.
Turns out it was a cover up. There's more information at the Sydney Morning Herald. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2007/11/30/1196037111096.html
No, I think it was zombie pirates. Like this one here.
What did Yea ever do to you?

donnybrook \DON-ee-brook\, noun:
1. A brawl; a free-for-all.
2. A heated quarrel or dispute.
Do you always begin conversations this way?

Have a look at the Biosphere 2 project.
Michael Jackson as the goblin king that steals children? That would have been excessively creepy.
*shudders*

I'm curious, what do you use the iTunes hotkey control for?
