  1. Will make problems for R&D/scientific applicat on White House Specifies And Mandates Secure Windows · · Score: 1

There's a lot of talk around NASA how this will cause huge headaches for scientists and R&D folks. There are very determined efforts afoot to homogenize Windows support and configuration at all NASA centers. Will make for a great bot target, and will most likely stifle development of new technologies to support NASA missions and objectives.

Only if the 2:34 is an exact subset, or sample, of the complete 4:33 work, right? Otherwise, it could be a completely different composition of rests of different lengths than the 4:33 work. :-)

It is quite pleasant to see that at least two major business news services have their headlines right. Both Reuters and Dow Jones Business News have articles with headlines that mention the doubling of SCO's losses before their lawsuit against AutoZone. The articles are more focused on the massive financial losses SCO has generated and seem to mention the AutoZone suit as more of a side note.

It doesn't really refute the creation story either. If a higher being was/is powerful enough to create Earth, why couldn't he/she/it create anything (or everything) else in the universe? Perhaps we earthlings are far too earth-centric in our thinking.

You seem to have a firm grasp of the beliefs of all religions known to man. Are you certain that all "man-made" religions believe that there is no water on other celestial bodies, or for that matter, life? I'm quite certain thatb many Christians believe without a doubt that there is intelligent life on other planets and won't be surprised at all to hear this news.

Isn't USB 2.0 faster than first-generation firewire? I think USB 2.0 runs at 480mbps and firewire runs at 400mbps. So you're better off with USB 2.0 than with the original firewire. (I hear there is firewire 800mbps, but it's only available on very new systems)

I played with "Legos" (don't let the company know I still call them that!) until I was *at least* 10 years old. As I grew older I moved away from building houses, cars, and other "normal" stuff and started building my own nifty creations like secret vaults with locks and awesome aerial firefighting aircraft. It really got my mind thinking about how practical my creations would be in the real world, and if they followed the laws of physics or not.

Anyway, glad to see Lego getting back to what it always did best. Perhaps they can spin off the Mindstorms branch. I'm sure there are plenty of us who would still buy Mindstorm products.
