Actually with publishers such as Sega and Microsoft (Halo 2 anyone?) behind it it's doing quite well. Sega's online sports games are done very well and most places around here have already sold out of pre orders for Halo 2, a game thats coming out at the end of summer. I'd say it's anything but dead.
Looks like their webserver is being run on newton, 10 comments and already/.'d. Oh well I guess they figured adding 802.11b support was more important then adding/. defense.
It's the security you don't see. Unless he had a geiger counter and an anthrax vaccination I dont think anyone would want to risk wandering around Los Alamos. Just the threat of spending the rest of my life with a third arm is enough to keep me away. I mean think about it, he states they hauled away 9 tons of radioactive soil from where he was wandering around, think they got all of it? Plus theres the whole matter of what made the soil radioactive in the first place lying around somewhere. Hope he didn't bring home any souviners.
Oh, it's not april first you say? An editor posted this and thought it was REAL? Well damn, I guess it's better reading a joke presented as truth then the usual dupe though. Although if we get a dupe of this one, I'll be pissed, it's already 8 year old humour, don't know if i can take it more then once.
Didn't get out much in high school eh? All the "cool" kids get hammered and puke everywhere to prove how cool they are. On a more on topic note, it would be interesting to see how many tech support / bug report calls microsoft actually gets. I'd see most users calling whoever sold them their computer or failing that the manufacturer. I'm assuming most direct calls microsoft gets come from their big customers which you would think mostly would be tech support or bug reports and I'm sure that costs a pretty penny.

You guys need to RTFA. It's not about product placement as it appears to be. However it's about using a product as the centerpiece of a game. A game built around a product in other words. I really would have liked to see an article about product placement though.
Can't play exsisting MP3's? Where is your creativity? All you have to do is burn the mp3's to an audio cd and pop that into your xbox and rip them from there to the xbox's hard drive. How hard is that?
To see who can get the first/. post at 10,000 feet. Although I'm sure it would be modded down to -1 troll and have a bunch of goatse links as a response.
You have to love the ignorance on/. All they ask for is a name, address, and last four digits of your social security number. That's a helluva lot less then any online retailer and 50% of retailers have to be shadier then these guys. It always amazes me how people get mod'd +5 insightful for never even click the damn links.

Which is exactly the point of the article. This is the first cost comparison I've seen that is somewhat intelligent. Using cost per processing unit (in this case 100,000 web site visits) is a great way to look at whats better for you on your scale and for your needs.
You can easily play online w/ out a starter kit. Such games as HALO and tony hawk and all other system link games can be played via gamespy's tunnel. It's amazing how misinformed ignorant posts get modded +2 on/.
All the people I've talked to in retail around here have been amazed at all the XBOX's being sold w/ XBOX Live this Christmas. So I'll be busy playing a bunch of kids who got XBOX live and NFL 2k3 for christmas and inflating my record (currently in the top 60 in the world, was 38 but took a week off) to reach the top! And of course watching football and the best of Sportscenter about 30 times. Oh yeah and lots of reading.
Will someone mod this as troll? The top post on that page clearly instructs visitors to go trolling around and posting the address everywhere. And it also mentions planning a big slashdot hoaxing as they put it. You'd think if they wanted to pull a big hoax they wouldn't be plastering the url of the main site for the hoax everywhere. Oh well who said trolls were smart?
Don't know if this applies to most geeks as they generally dont spend a lot of time with the fairer sex. Anyways during the last big shower here, I got a lady friend and headed up to the mountains. With a nice blanket, some food, and some sleeping bags you can have a lot of fun. The winter is perfect time for said fun, see it's cold (especially in the mountains) and cold means getting into the sleeping bags and finding another source of body heat. Then you already have romance with the stars and mountains and what not, and cuddling leads to one thing and that leads to another and pretty soon you've got something really worth your time on yer hands. So come on guys find a lady friend and head somewhere remote. Hell you already have the romance built in. Not even Cowboy Neal could screw this one up.
I take it you don't live in Arizona, besides the two major cities it's hot, flat (where they're dropping cars) hot, middle of nowhere, did i mention hot? and a pain in the ass to get to most remote areas. Hell we were on Lake Havasu two weeks ago and it was 135 on the water. Now imagine the middle of the desert where they're dropping cars, not exactly prime hiking territory. But hey at least it's a dry heat. Yeah so is a sauna.

So I move out and figure I wont need a stove because I dont cook much. Then I realize I like eggs but have a pentium chip. So I figured I'd buy a new box w/ the new athlon, over clock it and figure i could fry up my eggs that way. So basically this means I starve and use an old box for another 3-5 months? What a crap deal that is.
His definition said they had to be in the same playing area at the same time, so by his way of thinking it's not. However any "contest" where a cameraman can get fired for zooming in on college chicks asses (said he was trying to read their plays they give by their hands behind their back) is a ok by me.
Does this mean Carmen Electra will have to go back to posing nude in playboy to make some cash? Thats a lot safer for her, this way overweight geeks can just stare at her picture and she doesn't have to worry about getting to close to them during interviews.
Damn it you beat me to it. Now I'll just grab my towel, some peanuts, drink a few beers and be on my way. Of course finding a hitchhiker may be a problem as I'm kind of far away from england.Thats OK i'll hop in my Ford Prefect and hope for the best.

From the very first line of the post of the story: The Samba-TNG (the next generation)
Heres the best babelfish could do for the "Altbier" and the "Malzbier"

More then likely because 42 is the max number of OS's you could ever have on a single computer, just ask deep thought.
