    We don't need that pesky constitution thing anymore, either. I mean, it was nice at the beginning and all, but it's just getting in the way of corporate profits now. What with the DMCA, the Patriot act, and others like it, it's mainly a sort of social signal rather than a legal document with teeth.

    I suppose if you were going to travel somewhere that you knew you weren't going to drive the entire time you were there, had plenty of cash, and weren't planning on buying any alcohol, cigarettes, lottery tickets, etc. at any point during your trip, maybe you could travel without needing an ID. but what's the point?

    They're just basically saying that the star was slingshotted(new word?) out of the galaxy by way of the black hole at the center of the galaxy. The same way that we use planets to slingshot probes and increase their velocity to get them to their destinations faster. Just at a much larger scale.

    You can't break Mach 10, just like you can't break warp 10! If you were traveling at Warp 10, you'd occupy all points in space at once. At Mach 10, would you occupy all the space in my iPod?

    One danger is that the results of the riot-cams will just be dismissed as doctored film. There is also the risk of confiscation.
    Finish reading the post if you're not going to RTFA:

    We're talking about a comfortable temperature, not stifling heat. I can't exactly work in gloves and earmuffs, but it seems I have to on some summer days when the AC is cranked down to 50 degrees (or at least it seems that way).

    Actually the '94 Civic does have power brakes. :) Pretty much any car since the 70's does too. Look right behind the master cylinder (where you add brake fluid) at the round black thing. That's the brake booster. It uses engine vacuum to amplify the force you apply to the brakes with your foot. Without it you'd be just about standing on the brakes every time you wanted to slow down. :)
