Nothing too far out of the ordinary, but it's interesting that the site was totally quiet during the St Helens activity. Now that the Helens activity has decreased by about 10%, Rainer has acted up a little.
More info to add in the last few hours to my post. According to the most recent seismograph readings, it now seems that Mount Rainer is showing signs of activity as well.
A NASA site has officially been slashdotted! Upon trying to download the file I'm getting:
"We are sorry but the slashdoting of a 250MB file was a bit more than we had planned for. We will re-post this file later in the day or this evening once the initial rush cools off. Thank you for your patience."
Ham Radio will interfere with it severely, and there won't be a damn thing the provider can do because it's under FCC part 15, which must accept any harmful interference, especially from PROPERLY LICENSED services.
If you live in the Cincinatti area and have a HAM license, it's time to find some major power lines and start transmitting like your life depended on it!
I wonder is anyone has remembered that paper always burns from the edge first when ignited, becuase thats wheres the most oxygen is located ( 3 points of surrounding axis of air rather than 2 )
Looks to me like he had the bills folded in half when me microwaved them.
What was it, Ultima 2 that had a "Mandrake root" in it? I think it healed you or something...regardless, Origin could have sued Mandrake then! people were confused; they didn't know if Mandrake was a Linux distro or a healing plant!
disclaimer: I used to work at Origin
It's also used in Ultima Online as a reagent in many different spells. At least it was back when I played, before UO sucked.:)
From just reading the slashdot post I thought they had come out with an Ambient Orb for your cars dashboard, with glow color dependant on your speed or rpms....crap, I'd better patent that before they steal it.:)
If you watch the 'robot' throughout the entire video, it seems to be very particular about getting the can moving in the right direction before it stats spraying. Almost att the sprays, for whatever reason, seem to go from lower right to upper left. The 'hovering' is the robot positioning the can for the proper spray direction.
As to WHY the robot sprays like that, I have no idea.:)
"Basically, the cutting process is cold laser ablation, like that in laser eye surgery," said Li. "At 266 nm it gives a very good clean cut, although going deeper than 10 mm is difficult." Now how am I supposed to cut my 10 pound wheels into Valentines decorations?
Back when I was in high school, TI graphing calculators were used for one tihng, and one thing only... GAMING!:) This new release just means we're that much closer to having a classroom-allowed Gameboy.:)
Who could forget the good ol' Commodore 64! I got mine for my fourth birthday, and was making simple basic programs within a few weeks. Had it not been for that little hunk of plastic and silicon, I would probably be working in the automotive industry, my other hobby. Things as small as a birthday gift can change someones life forever!
Hopefully a channel like this can stick to what it was meant to show. Remember TLC? Didn't that used to stand for The Learning Channel? When did it become The Trading Spaces And Other Non Educational Crud Channel?

Wonderful. Now my car will be calling me Dave.
'Your wife is looking for you, Dave...
You're 6 miles an hour over the speed limit, Dave'
Open the car door, HAL!
A mention of a possible signal and someone comes out to vehemently deny it? Tinfoil time!
Which is why we should parade the telescope around in a shower of confetti, just like The Inanimate Carbon Rod!
Freenet: Quantum Encryption Edition
Star Wars: The Fall Of JarJar? Star Wars: A new plot? Star Wars: Time-to-start-planning-for-some-sequels-cause-the- prequels-weren't-all-that-good?

The conference is going on now and theres new news: Not only was there a large amount of water, there's good evidence that it was salty.

I think the original quote goes: "If God didn't want us to eat animals, then why'd he make them so delicious?" :)

Why dosen't Microsoft give it up and admit to all the Xbox players that they're gaming on a PC? Or in the case of the Xbox2, a Mac. :)
Someone needs to introduce them to a little company called PKWare...

A direct link to a 15MB .mov file on the front page of slashdot? Does someone REALLY not like the people who run that server or something?

So then should TLC stand for The Ladies Channel? :)
