You're right, Tron is too simplistic. Instead they need to make a movie based on much newer games like Tomb Raider, Resident Evil and Doom. Those movie will ROCK!
Seriously though, how often are remakes not big huge disappointments? Hollywood will only stop making them when people stop going to see them. I think people who go and see a movie that is a remake or a sequel for nostalgic purposes are the reason we have so many bad movies in the theater right now.
BTW, I'm guilty. I went to see Ocean's Twelve recently. Oh why did I do that?
As far as stars go, only Betelgeuse is large enough and close enough to get (slightly) more than a pixelated pinpoint. And stars tend to be bigger than planets.
all too frequently, people use this misconception. Heat is not equivalent to infrared energy.
You see heat in infrared images because things of the temperatures that are common on the Earth (people, plants, cars, etc. ) have blackbody radiation curves that peak in infrared band.
Don't get me started on people that confuse light amplification with infrared cameras.
...open source software is bound to fail and we should all use Microsoft software since they employ some of the smartest and most experienced people in the world and I would not trust anyone else to be writing operating systems to control my servers.
I personally hate it when people rely on the compiler and shotgun debugging to help them get their module working correctly.
Debugging should be for getting bugs out, not experimenting until you find the right algorithm.
That aside, I agree that it is rediculous to expect 100% syntax free code on a written exam. My professors expected pseudocode on exams, since they are looking for correct semantics, not correct syntax.
I just do not understand Ebert's disdain for digital film, CGI, etc
He doesn't have a problem with digital media. He has a problem with the transfer of a digitally shot movie onto film for projection. The point he was trying to make was that if you shoot in digital you should project in digital. The problem is that only a very few number of theaters in the US has the capability to project in digital. That is what Ebert means when he said "What I dislike about Lucas' approach is that he wants to change the entire world of film to suit his convenience."
Earlier in article Ebert says, "Lucas is so eager to promote his vision of the digital future that he is willing to penalize his audience."
If we "fix" this whole aging thing, won't we also need to put a stop to this giving birth thing?
I don't think the Catholics are gonna like this very much.

Yes. Google will help you ogle at your pr0n.
If this idea takes off, will Adam see any profit since Case University probably owns the IP?
Isn't his why people leave school if they get a really good idea? Of course in this case, he wouldn't have been awarded the grant.

No... we won't. The NSA never hands out results of their findings (well maybe they will to Congress in a Special Hearing considering recent events).
That might be the only workout some of us ever get.
What's next, the Fisher Price Cloning kit?
