    The plans were announced months ago...

    Well...but the plans were on display, on the internet even, surely they have access to the internet out there....

    Yes we're some distance away and all....

    Look they haven't even tried to find the plans...

    It's not as if it's a particularly nice rock...

    Well, if aliens landed today and saw a few windmills here and there they'd just think we needed more of them for some more clean energy.

    With these kites providing power all over the place; they're going to think we're frickin nuts...who the hell flies rings of giant kites all over the place? I think they'd even leave us alone; let's have at it!

    that's not the real question because most people aren't really going to ask it, but rather will ask why are the buttons here instead of where they used to be? Most people don't even *KNOW* about web standards; but if you change the way the interface works even by moving buttons around they'll freak.

    400% of their cost to produce price. Im almost drunk right now, and between that and my normal lazyness; coupled with the fact I dont remember specifics, I cant remember when or where the article was, but it was on MS profit margins on its OS and Office software, but it was obscene. 200% at least as I recall, perhaps more.

    Gates like the company to have enough *CASH* to run the company for 2 years at a loss without any trouble(did i get that right?); thats an enourmous amount of money (up in the billions) and it doesn't come out of thin air

    Wish i could be more helpful; but i read /. at work mostly and dont bookmark alot of things there; though im at home at the moment, go figure.

    when they are voted out of office BECAUSE of this type of thing. Which will never happen, because the average voter doesnt know, and doesnt care about this. I could ask anyone I know and most of them wouldnt know what a RFID is at all just off the top of their head; most dont realize its what makes the detectors and places like wal-mart and wherever go off if an item wasnt scanned and thats an amazingly common use of the technology that is now almost unavoidable.

    People are ignorant and just dont care; thats why they dont know about this type of thing, and its why they dont know how to use a computer, or how to change the oil in their car, how to hardboil an egg (yes, ive heard people ask how to do it) among a number of other things that some people take as common knowledge because we give a damn and most people dont.

    Now that marijuana has been brought up, I remember what my mother asked me just weeks ago about my younger brother you, until he got busted 2 weeks ago, smoked regularly:

    "Why is it james is always broke and in such a good mood?"

    I wonder how much the government would get on taxes from marijuana if it was legalized...and my brother wonders how much the good stuff would cost him.

    my urk is that Ive gotten an aol cd in a plastic DVD case and it was free...but a number of new games come out and use paper sleeves after I shell out $40 or $50 for a copy. I remember buying UT2k3 new and with all the cds the damn game came with, with the money i paid for it...they couldnt put them all in a jewel case or 2? I bought another game a few months ago and it was in a printed cardboard sleeve...thanks alot. A huge box, a pitiful manual...and I get a cardboard sleeve to protect the $45 i spent.
