  1. Economies and Currencies on Standards For Interconnecting Virtual Worlds · · Score: 2, Interesting

I wonder if each grid will have it's own currency and economy. Linden would compete to be the most vibrant economy but there would be nothing stopping others from competeing. There could even be free grids like the sandboxes that exist now. Just a thought.

  2. Re:PlayStation on PSP Devs Should Pony Up · · Score: 1

The AC does make an interesting point though. At the moment alot of the development that is going on tends to ask the question "How do we port this?". Which is understandable given the infancy of the system. Don't forget that it took a while for the PS2 to get rolling development wise. However once devs got more experienced with the 'uniqueness' of the architecture some excelent things were done, and are still being done. Give it time and we will see this system used it great ways, for example load times are getting faster as devs work out how to lay out the data on disk to decrease random access, this also has the benefit of added batery life, eventually they will get a grip on the other bits. Patience.

Well it just might be .....

Some of the guys over at DSDev have some test code to show how presure sensitivity might work. According to the official doco from Texas Instruments on the touch screen it should support it. Something to do with the area over which the pressure is applied based on some special formula. It's all very technical but definitely possible.

Is it just me or are companies starting to use Law Suits as a business model.

For example the Music Industry has got it down to a fine art. Find a consumer, sue them for millions, they can't afford legal costs so they settle for around 3 - 5 grand, move onto the next.

They could potentially make more money this way out of indiduals then by having them buy CD's.

    Just my thoughts anyway.

I was just thinking about how people have been reacting to the effect of violence in GTA on the real world. GTA is a cartoonish representation of the real world, with exagerated situations, characters and locations, and yet people still blame it for real world violence.

This True Crime game is based heavily in the real world, with all the violence from GTA but now in realistic setting and location. Can anyone else see the crazy people out there latching on to this and complaining. I mean they have a problem with simulated cartoon violence imagined what they can do with this realistic game as an argument.

Wouldn't it most likely be called GTA : San Angles since the Liberty City and Vice City were also in the original game. Also it will probably be set in the 70's going with the current trend of 90's then 80's. Also San Angles had the Hippy Van and San Francisco which it will probably be based has more of a 70's hippy vibe. Also could be cool with lots of flashy Pimps in their flashy pimp mobiles. Of course all the music would have to be on 8 Track tapes.
